  • Look what's come to stay with us

Well my boy did it again. He loves to wheel and deal. He swapped a guitar amp. for these five revolvers.

    A 4" S&W mod. 19

A 2" S&W mod. 10. I could really get to like this one.

A 5" S&W mod. 27. I read that there weren't many 5" made. I think I could really get to like this one. Wait! I already said that.

The 27 was the first .357 back about 1935 and fine workmanship went into it. It's hard to tell but the top strap and the barrel rib are finally checkered. Then there was the mod.28 which was an economy version for L.E.

A 4" and a 6" Colt Pythons. He wouldn't leave them with me for fear that I'd rework them. He needs to learn trust. The 4" looked unfired when I saw it

Must have been one hell of a remarkable guitar amp. Those are all sweet.

I don't know how he does it. That car in the background is a 1969 Firebird with a reworked engine. He got that in a swap for I think some musical stuff. I have a 6 spd. 2000 Camaro Z28 that he got for me by swapping 3 Les Paul guitars for it. It only had 22,000 miles then.

I don't know. He travels in the musical world. I believe these guns were from an inheritance to another musician.

Well.... if the amp was a pre-68 Fender Deluxe Reverb, or a 69 Marshall Plexi, or almost any brownface or tweed Fender, the guy with the amp did get a hell of an amp.

I was thinking the same thing... blackface or earlier Fender, pre-circuitboard Marshall. The guy getting the amp could have made out better depending on what it was.

JG, can you find out for us? Inquiring minds want to know

I know it would take quite a few old Smiths to get me to think about trading my old blackface Vibrolux Reverb

Ok! I just got off the phone with my son.
The guy is a Marshall amp collector. So my son gave him:

Marshall NIB Randy Rhoades signature 100W head
1983 JCM 800 cabinet in white tolex finish, what ever that is.

I know it would take quite a few old Smiths to get me to think about trading my old blackface Vibrolux Reverb
I read off some of the amps you guys mentioned on this thread and he laughed and said he'd never trade the ones he has.

He's thinking of keeping the unfired 4" Python. Which I think is good choice, but I'd want to swap the Elliason rear sight from the 6" model.
And he likes the model 10 also. Every thing else goes. Knowing him so will the 4" Python and mod. 10 after a while

Here's what he got for 3 Les Pauls. I saw it and wanted it. 22,00 mile on it

Then the wife got jealous so she had to have her own 6 spd. muscle car. Mine is faster

Nice hall...you got a good son there! Hopefully you will be able to enjoy them at the range. I used to own a couple wheel guns myself, both were a S&W 19 and 686. Wish I still had them!
