      Colt 9mm barrels have chambers that are very sensitive to ammo sizing for good accuracy. At least all the ones I played with in the 80's and 90's did. Ditto for the old 9mm 39/59 barrels from S&W.

      I had a fairly well fitting S&W 9mm barrel in a 39, and it shrank groups to 1/3 the size by the addition of the BarSto barrel (no longer made). That gun got stolen by UPS when I sent it out for hard chroming. @#$@#

      The 9's run finicky on ammo when the chambers are cut generously. More finicky than even the .38-Super.

      By way of comparison the .45ACP is forgiving, it seems by its very nature. Maybe its the straight wall vs taper of the 9mm?
