I have a picture after the first magazine of 10 rounds, then a shot another mag at a lower poitn, not the bull, before adjusting the sights 4 clicks up and 2 clicks right. That's pretty good for not having a rest... the correction... not me!

It looks like I was shooting a "pattern" with one flyer.

I have held the steel equivalent Rugers and compared them with the Lite model... they run around 30 to 35 ounces and this one weighs in at 23 ounces and feels HALF as heavy. I'll have to see if the flash suppressor changes the balance or steadies it a bit.

It was a no-brainer to get the Lite. I still need to get a holster and mag-carrier... maybe a combo... in nylon or Kydex.

I'm glad that I got the magazine loader, it makes loading those quick and I don't drop ammo all over the place... just put a handful in the hopper, insert mag, and lightly shake the loader... the rounds usually just zip right in.

I'll have to take some pictures of the magazine well. I remember that I have to concentrate to insert it because of the angle and nature of the well. It's lined with ribs, not "walls" and just seems un-natural... the angle for insertion and all.

I do like the lighter frame. The steel ones were really heavy! I'm used to polymer now, since my first Kahrs... second and on, actually!

I just took some pictures of the magazine well and magazines. I'm not a fan of the plastic magazine base... a little less making the grip look like a 1911 would ave been okay... maybe the regular bases. These look prone to breakage. I've ordered 3 more from Ruger.

Oh! I haven't cleaned the pistol, yet. I need to VACUUM it! I want to make sure the front sight screw gets cleaned and thread locked to preclude any more rotations!

I always thought the grip comparison angle to the 1911 was way over inflated. It ain't a 1911, not a thing except the angle on that gun is any part of a 1911. IMO an ad hype thing more than functional.

It's just a stretch when you go to insert the magazine... it's not parallel to the grip or grip panels... just un-natural for inserting the magazine.

It feels good in the hand and I can still jerk, mash sideways, or push forward to get the desired impact dispersion over more of the target. That second target is just beautiful... one "flier" and the others neatly patterned... mostly in a hexagon about the inner bull and two at the center. I would like to see what slow fire with a good pistol rest... two-point... at least... would be like... maybe rival the 10/22 out to 10 yards!

Nothing is a 1911 but a 1911, and never will be. Having the 1911 grip angle on the 22/445 when most of you other pistols have the same grip angle IMO is a major plus.

Wyn that suppresser looks pretty cool. The speed loaders work great. I have something similar for my 10/22.

The more you shoot that pistol the more your going to like it. Mine never leaves my range bag except for cleaning and shooting. They are some tough little pistols that do not need a lot of special care. Most of the time for me it's a couple passes down the pipe with a Bore snake and that's it as far as cleaning goes. Maybe ever couple thousand rounds or so I'll break it down for a good cleaning but that depends on how dirty the ammo is that I'm shooting. Congrats on your new plinker.

Thanks, popeye. I got my order from Midway in the mail today. Got the new flash hider and took some pictures.

I might have to try some other washers besides the Ruger one, though. I guess I should have ordered the DPMS ones from Midway for $2.95 each, I think. I might order a couple of more Butler Creek Steel Lips 25-round 10/22 mags for $19.79 each and get one of the DPMS washers.

It might help hold down the vicious recoil, too!

I noticed that the front sights were still loose, so I got some alcohol wipes and cleaned the screw threads and in the hole, and then applied some medium strength thread blocker from the China Tool Store (Harbor Freight). Maybe the vicious recoil won't shake them loose now!

Got to tell ya Wyn that looks bad to the bone. Glad you got the front sight fixed. Speaking of Harbor freight I picked up a bunch of round nylon brushes from them that kind of look like bore brushes. I use them all the time for cleaning out the mag wells, mags and receivers on my pistols and rifles. I did put a piece of shrink wrap over the metal wire on the end though so not to mar the finish. I think the pack of about ten was $3/$4 and I've had them for years. On my 22/45 I have a Red Dot Reflex on it and it makes the pistol scary accurate with a good brand of ammo in it.

Here's a couple of pics of mine. Mines the 22/45 Bull barrel target model. It's about as close as I could come to a 1911 in size and weight in the Ruger MK series of pistols. Always liked the MK series of pistols and when I saw it I had to have it. It might not look it but it has a few thousand round down the pipe. Mine at the moment is totally stock. That might change very shortly.

Nice! Is the frame steel on that one?

I like that the included scope/accessory mount fits between the sights... just barely... on my 4.5" barrel. I don't like it on the pistol, though... messes up the look, without a scope or other sight mounted.

No Wyn it's a poly frame. My buddy has targets he printed off the net. There like a rack of pool balls. We have competitions on one shot per ball and the one with the most shot balls wins. The looser buys lunch. We do this from all sorts of distances. We have a lot of fun bustin on each other. Makes for an enjoyable afternoon at the range.

I can imagine that's fun. Those pistols are just like the 10/22's... lots of fun. I had a 5 1/2" Bull-barrel back in the 70's... used to have a lot of revolvers back then, too.

I'm going to look for a decent pistol rest when I'm out tomorrow... something that will help with the 10/22 at the range, too, for sight adjustment.

It's hard to beat shooting .22 at about 4˘ a pop... last year's bulk ammo prices, not 20˘ or more a round for rimfire now, if you can find it!

Yes they are, and the darned things will eat anything you feed them. There not as easy to strip down and put back together as most pistols, but once you get them broken in a little and get the hang of it, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.
One thing I definitely want to get rid of is the mag safety. I might do a little trigger work to it also being it's a pistol that is just used for target shooting.

Yeah, I keep trying to dry fire without the magazine... pulling... and pulling.... Then I realize... Oh yeah, the danged magazine safety! I wiped down the mags and put them aside and don't want to mess with them... being rust-able! I wiped them down with a silicone cloth.

I ordered 3 more mags from Ruger, trying to use their 20% off deal when you register your new toy. I cancelled my attempt last year after getting another 10/22 because the 20% off wasn't showing in the order. You put the discount code in the special instructions... like that worked! Not!

I called their customer service number and chose what I thought should get me a service rep., but no, I got a canned recording... no help! I guess I'll have to email them. They are another outfit that charges you upfront and then you wait... and wait....

I'm spending way too much money... saving money ONLINE!
