I was thinking the same thing......then I remembered that you always get what you pay for! I went with a Trijicon RMR Dual Ilumination and love it.

Yow! $481+ at Midway... almost what I have in my pistol, not counting mags.

I know Trijicon makes good stuff and I use their night sights... love the new HD NS, but that's a little rich for me.

A Bushnell TRS 25 works pretty well on those. They are usually $80 to $90 bucks.

+1 on the Bushnell. Burris Fastfire red dots also work well, but are closer to the $200 price range.

Thanks, guys. So far the TRS 25 is looking good... a little over $81 on Amazon with fast shipping on my Amazon Prime. I saw that recommended over at the Ruger Forum, too.

Ya....but!....it works day or night and NEVER needs batteries, also it does not go out of adjustment with a little jarring like some of the less expensive ones.

I went ahead and ordered the TRS-25. It's pretty inexpensive and seems well though of.

Well, I FINALLY got a round tuit(only 7 months elapsed!) and installed the rail and the TRS 25 on my MK3 22/45 Lite last Friday. Then I went to the range with it Saturday.

I used my Bushnell boresighter to get the TRS 25 in the ballpark before the range. I just held it without an arbor while adjusting the sight for about 10 yards. I shot the boresighter out of my Benjamin Trail NP .22 air rifle... about 850 fps(?)... shattered the plastic .22 arbor. I need to attach a ribbon to the boresighter, or something.

                      Some pix at photobucket... album:

                      http://s1134.photobucket.com/user/wy...%202245%20Lite

The compensator is from TANDEMKROSS and I added it after seeing a review. With the lightness of the pistol, the compensator helps with balance, I think, and "tames" the recoil.

Link to TANDEMKROSS and the "Game Changer' Compensator... on sale for $25:

                      http://www.tandemkross.com/2245-Game...ROSS_p_56.html

I do have a nice Kydex holster that will accommodate most sights, though I would have to be out in the woods or something to need that, but I like having holsters for every pistol.

The target behind the pistol at the range is from a somewhat wobbly rest(mainly me) at 10 yards.

I tried some Federal 525 Pack Champion 36-gr bullets, 40-gr Round Nosed Colt(Aguila), and some Blazer 40-gr RN. The "Colt" stuff gave me several malfunctions... jams/stovepipes/multiple cases hangups and a few empty chambers... FTF. I'll save that stuff for my 10/22 or sell it at the gun show, though It cost me nearly $7 a box delivered when that's all I could find in 40-gr round nose .22LR.

I think that I've done everything that I'm going to do to this pistol. It has the Majestic 3.2 trigger kit, Volquartsen ejector, TANDEMKROSS Compensator, and I added the TANDEMKROSS Bumper+1 bases to all of my mags. Those bases really help when you have to clear jams and need to pull the magazine out of the pistol... good luck doing that with the tiny factory base!

Targets... First shots sprinkled several inches high and maybe 3 inches left. After several adjustments I tried groups from 7, 10, and 15 yards. My eyes really suck at 15 yards, but 10 is okay. My rest wasn't great and I still had too much lateral movement... poor trigger "technique". I can't slow down... like to shoot... and if the dot was steady at trigger break, that's where the shot struck the target.

The sight sits over an inch above the axis of the barrel, so I needed an idea where the rounds were going with respect to the range. I shot around 150 rounds using 4 magazines. The mags will hold 11 rounds and I did do that a few times with each mag, but usually I stuck to 10 rounds each. The brass fell pretty much in the same place just to the right of the pistol.

Again... I don't spend a lot of time "aiming" and see that the sight isn't on the center of the target every time... with the expected results. My eyes really suck at more than 10 yards, too!

Sight adjustments made between some groups.

Okay I just took photos of the few 15-yard targets:

I love the Majestic trigger improvement, but I still have too much trigger jerking or whatever.

This sight is a bit like using a laser, but you have to look through the tube and when I first do that, I'm usually pointing way too high. It takes getting used to.

What are your thoughts on the compensator? Reduced noise? Flash? Affect balance?

This was between the first photos:

I didn't do exhaustive or comprehensive test/comparison or anything, but it seemed like a good idea from the reviews I saw:

                              http://www.tandemkross.com/2245-Game...ROSS_p_56.html

The review covers muzzle rise, but I didn't notice anything about noise reduction. On a previous test of mine with Stingers, I saw fire shooting out of the ports with them, but not regular .22LR.

And for $25 while on sale, that's hard to beat.

Okay, I checked some videos and stills and made more still of my nephew firing the MK3 with the TANDEMKROSS Compensator at the range. I believe the ammo was the Federal 525 Value Pack with 36-gr hollow points... about 1,250 fps.

I made a couple of 3-frame stills of several shots and will post still from different positions to show the pistol and the compensator in use.

In the second of the sequence photos there's something flying up at about 11 o'clock from the compensator. The target carrier wires give an alignment straight line for recoil reference.

Next page another 3-shot sequence and a few other shots.
