Shotgun adapters have been around a looong time.
On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.
The notch is supposed to be there as well as the bulge at the front of the frame!

His particular version and how it is marketted (as a set) is new.

Not that I am interested but it is an idea and some will find it useful.

A one-shooter with limited range... too short a barrel and probably lacking in accuracy beyond a pistol range.

You would be better off with a repeating shotgun and varying types of ammo as needed.

What would be INTERESTING... would be a repeating shotgun specifically made to use those shorty slug shells... doubling at least the capacity.

              JMHO.

Ok, you can have any shotgun you like. Now what do you do when you run out of ammo and all that you can find is 22lr ammo? or 357 magnum? THAT is the point of this "system" with it and your shotgun you can shoot a far larger variety of ammo.

I still say it's a novelty with limited real use. If you're shooting .22 LR in your single shot shotgun, you're really in trouble. That's why I have multiple pistols for each caliber and lots of ammo... lots... and LOTS of magazines for each.

I was thinking "neat item to throw in your kit" until I saw the price. Wow. I would just buy another gun.

                      Way OVERPRICED.

Can I fire a pointy stick out of it?

I agree, too expensive and too pointless. If I run out of ammo, I have bigger problems at play than a single shot adapter for a shotgun is gonna solve. I'll be under a rock somewhere at that point, or dead, and either way...will not care. I'd rather spend my $400+ on another gun as well. That's just ridiculous.

Insurance for the End of Times/Zombie Apocalypse/Nuke winter...
otherwise an overprice novelty, not to say that that much machine work on that much tool steel is not expensive. I'm just saying that until the worst happens, you have no reason to need it.
If though you feel you must, just in case, then don't you also need the shotgunning companion sets: http://www.briley.com/companiondrop-intubesets.aspx
Then you can shoot any of the shotty rounds you would find...

Till you have all of those adaptors, you really can't call yourself a real "Doomsday Prepper".
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
                            "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
                            "more stuff than you are"

Wow! TAP-IN ALUMINUM barrel inserts... for $549 to $649 each!?? That's for someone with more money than sense! You can buy guns for each caliber/gauge! Then you still have the inadequate shotgun sights... maybe a brass bead only.
