    Oh Happy Day!
Winchester is bringing back the '73!! In .357/38 Special.

I bet these are going to fly off the shelves. I hope they are not TOO proud of them. Sure makes me want a Rossi a lot less.

Damn, found another write-up, that says the MSRP is $1299. Oh well, maybe those Rossi's don't look that bad after all. Dammit.

HY*NDAI is to cars, what Caracal, Hi-Point, and Jennings is to handguns. The cars may or may not run ok, but the corporation SUCKS.

Have to have some of my rifles with scopes. I had it on my mini14 at one time but the bolt is almost impossible to get out with a scope on it for cleaning. I wouldn't dare put one on my M1 Garand and trying to get a decent set up for and SKS is almost impossible. So for now it has a scope on it. Sure isn't anything that can't be removed in a matter of seconds.

          Proper lever guns for comparison.

          Items of note*

          No tupperware
          No scopes
No light rails, flashlight rails, lasers or range finders
          No cup holders
          Wood - YES
          Metal - YES

          Guess that about covers it.

              Lets see left <- to right-> 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Well that is a Winchester 375, I bought it long long ago used but in mint condition. I hunted elk with it a few years when I was the brush beater. Great little gun, trajectory like a rainbow but a good shooter. It's basically a 30-30 with no bottleneck. I was careful not to scratch it in the woods.

6 is a Marlin 357, I'm not exactly sure on the model designation. Got it for my son from an officer here. Haven't shot it much, don't mention that one to Surv, I think that might be one he's on the prowl for.

Okay, I promise not to mention anything to Surv; in case you ever think you might part with it, I'd really like a place in line for the .357. It's purdy.

I would rock it as a beater truck gun.

Colonel, you have a nice collection there. Can you tell me more about the one on the far right? Also number 2 from the left. Both look like they've been around awhile.

Far right is a WW Greener 14 1/2 gauge shotgun. Designed for prison guards. Kind of a unique design. Got it only about a year ago, just cause it was weird and different and I loved it. Shells can be found but I don't have any yet.

                        # 2 is a Winchester 1901 10 gauge shotgun, it and the 73 beside it allegedly came across the country in a covered wagon originating in St Louis.
They were in my grandparents closet for as long as I can remember. My grandmother gave them to me many many years ago.
Even had paint drops on them from when they painted but didn't bother to cover the guns up.
It's all complete with no parts missing which in looking around is kind of rare by itself, usually something is gone.
It's been around a long time and it shows it but I'm fond of it and I'll be it's keeper long as I'm breathing.

It has one thing going for it. You could leave it in your truck, windows down and doors unlocked, nobody would steal it.

If'n I'd have known about that .357 lever crankin gun a couple of weeks ago, I might have just found a way to get it back to downtown Stumpwater with me. I think we had a 2-3 hour lay-over in the Seattle airport on the way back from Alaska. It is Washington State after all .... Seattle couldn't be too far from Bawana's gun safe. Naaahhhhhh .... I wouldn't have wanted to get out of the "secure zone" and have to deal with the TSA thugs again.

Well I'm extremely disappointed. Sea Tac is less than an hour away depending on when you go there.
I would have drove down there and we could have chatted over the line. You on the secure side and me on the hoodlum anything goes side.

Wished we could a done that. Probably be a spell before I ever get around to visiting Stumpwater. If I ever do get down that ways I'll bring the lever cranker with me for sure.

Truth be told the Chief of the Port of Seattle Police Dept is a very good friend, used to be chief here and I've yet to visit her in her office at the airport so it could have been one of them 2 stone birds in the bush deals.
Plus she might help bail me out when I get into it with the TSA thugs.
