While on our trip to Branson this weekend my wife decided we needed to have a "friendly wager," which ended up being played out over 18 holes at the Pirate's Cove miniature golf course.
If she won, I would buy her $600 worth of "shiny stuff," aka jewelry. If I won, she would give me $600 to buy a new gun. And yes, this was ALL her idea.
So I'm in the market for a new gun.
Now for the conundrum... while the kid in me wants to run out and buy a new toy, I don't really NEED a new gun. I have my CM40 for sub-compact carry... my XD9SC for higher capacity sub-compact carry... my Glock 23 for home defense / occasional winter carry (maybe)... rifles and shotguns for plinking and hunting, etc.
And on the flipside, a couple weeks ago my wife had the "sudden" realization that we live in a modern society of violence and crazy people, and realizes that she needs to learn how to shoot effectively and protect herself, if need be.
So I'm thinking of using the money to either buy her a gun, or buy "us" a gun that she can get proficient with and possibly carry, once able to do so.
She's not a complete noob... she qualified on the Beretta 92 in boot camp... she's shot both the Kahr and the Glock, but she doesn't like the heavy recoil. She hasn't shot my XDSC, but has shot other 9mms and is more comfortable with those.
And to keep things simple, I'm leaning more towards the revolver side of the aisle.
So what suggestions do you have?
