    So many great pistols to choose from. I don't remember it being like that 30 years ago.

      I was younger then but I remember mostly 1911's and revolvers.
      The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

        That was what I was thinking when I wrote earlier. There are literally so many fantastic pistols available these days. My preferences these days are for ergonomics, construction, preference for a particular type of action, etc.

        Those preferences shift depending on the use of the pistol. There are literally more different, high quality, brands than I have the time to try them all or room in the safe.

        I guess I feel pretty lucky and spoiled.

        I do remember some guns, like the Stoeger version of the Luger in .22 cal, that were fun at the time. Most were choosy about what ammo worked or were well beneath the reliability that is commonplace today.
