Mine is due home Monday. We'll see.

Got a new toy to try next week while on vacation. I'll post pics after the first outing.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I send mine on sep 3, I got the .9mm yesterday the 45 still there. The trigger is heavier, not to crazy about it. May go out tomorrow and try it out

I finally snuck out of the office long enough today to step out to the pond and test fire the returned XDs. Shooting from our normal spot, across the small pond at a wire bracket political sign (with 11x17 paper and shoot-n-see taped on). Shot the first five rounds into the dirt at the base of the sign and decided to sit down on a chair and use a second chair to rest my arms. Nope, it wasn't all me as they were still kicking dirt. I put 20 rounds of my reloads through first, then tried 10 rounds of factory Rem jhp. Before it was done, I finally hit the lower part of the target board with one reload and two of the Rem's. What little I shot this gun before sending it in was from the same spot these rounds were fired from, and I was shooting at least 6-8" groups to POA, offhand, from the same distance. Knowing the trigger was a tiny bit heavier, I dry fired quite a few cycles last night to get familiar with the trigger, and decided to use the "rest" to make sure it wasn't all me.

I really need to get out to the range and put a couple hundred rounds through it at the 7 and 15 yard wires and figure out how to approach this. I know it's not a "target pistol", but it sure ought to hit a torso sized target at 20 yards from a half steady rest. Still might be all in the shooter though, and still might need a few hundred rounds to break in.

FYI, I always tended to shoot mine a little low. Seemed like the smallest amount I let the top of the front sight drop below the top of the rear sight just put the rounds into the dirt.

My XD-S returned home today. Trigger was gritty and and nearly 1.4lbs. heavier than when it left (now 7.5lbs).
The grip safety spring has also been redesigned with the leg opposite the grip safety now resting against the sear block. The sear depresses that leg slightly as the trigger is pulled; I think this where the extra trigger weight comes from. The end of that spring leg also had a burr on it; polishing the burr off cleaned up the gritty feel to the trigger.
I probably wouldn't have bought one if the trigger was this heavy, but oh well, at least it makes my Glock 19 feel like it has a match trigger in comparison.
              Regards,
              Greg

BTW, I went back an re-read the blog linked in the first post. The writer stated "When you get your gun back, don’t be surprised if you don’t feel that the trigger pull is heavier than when the gun left, even though it technically will be. I had to put my digital trigger gauge on the upgraded guns, because side by side I felt that the difference wasn’t something you would notice. The gauge measured slightly over ½ a pound difference." and "The XD-S upgrade only adds about a ½ a pound of trigger pull to the gun, and I think the trigger is a little smoother." His photo for the article shows the scale measured the trigger at 7.65lbs.
However, I also read his original review of the XD-S and the photo accompanying that article shows the scale measured a trigger pull of 6.14lbs.
That's more in line with the difference I found.

I will still say, my trigger was not the least bit gritty, just heavier and shorter engagement. I need to load up a couple hundred rounds tomorrow morning to take to the range and see if I can figure out the before and after difference. If it don't work out, it'll be trade fodder for a CM45 .... or another revolver .... or another lever gun....

took my XDs out to the gunshop yesterday so we could do a trigger weight scale comparison between my "upgraded" one and a NIB bone stock XDs awaiting return for the "fix". My "upgrade" averaged 8.8 lb. at the break ... the "non-upgrade" pulled at ave 6.0 lb. Not a good change in my opinion, and I'm not up to any DIY gun smithing, particularly with the new, unknown parts floating around. Don't want to throw any more money into it either, and not really wanting to take a hundred dollar hit (or more) on a sale or trade. Other than the crappy NY weight trigger (although pretty short and crisp), the feel, fit and function are all great .... although, even with braced hands/arms and able to call my shots, it still don't hit where I'm aiming. I've got a couple of older buddies that are brothers that bought a pair of sequential serial numbered Glock 36's (not sure what the big deal about the serial number thing is) that are giving me a really hard time. I just can't imagine me sticking a danged brick sized glock IWB .... and they don't feel good in my hand (but every one I've shot comes up exactly point of aim, and hits the same) ..... and they're just so danged ugly ..... and they have too much of a fan boy following ..... and they are generally rugged, reliable, low maintenance, and have an over abundance of accessories .... and..... dang it, now I'm even thinking about a glock

My son just advised his just arrived moments ago. No word on what the trigger feels like. He did get a new magazine which I assume everyone is getting. One of the officers here also got his back with a new mag too.

Have to wait till I get home to make any judgement on it. I didn't shoot it a whole lot prior to it going back so we'll have to see.

Well I have to admit, as much as I think the post recall trigger sucks compared to what it was before SA installed their "fix", the pistol still shoots fairly well during slow fire (will try some rapid shooting next week).
This is one of the first groups (ten yards, standing) I shot with my XD-S when it was new:

This is 25 rounds from the "fixed" XD-S at ten yards/standing (took a few shots to get used to the trigger, but I think it will serve after that):

Agree Paul The trigger is a bit heavier and feels a little gritty, but it breaks nice and sharp and doesn't feel spongy and I didn't notice any difference in the reset. It's new so I'll give it some time before I make any final judgment on it. Plus I'm sure some guys will come up with ideas and You tube video's to make it smoother and shave a few Oz's off the trigger pull. I have not shot it yet as I've been dealing with a stomach bug, but if I feel a little better this afternoon I might try to make it to the range to put a hundred rounds through it. I certainly don't think it's anything I won't be able to adapt to. It's my EDC gun So I'm quite sure if I ever get into a adrenalin pumping serious situation where I should need it, I doubt the difference in trigger pull is going to mean much. It does feel nice to have it back though. The recall took a little longer than I would have liked, but I got my XDS9 back in the same pristine condition it left in and I can shoot it in confidence again. I'm glad I sent it in asap. The Extended mag is going to come in handy at the range that's for sure. I even found that my Ruger SR1911 (which came in a cardboard box)and a extra mag fits into the little plastic case they sent it back in perfectly. Not that I store my guns in them but it's still nice to have should I ever decide to sell/trade or transport the Ruger.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

I am happy to say that after dry firing mine quite a bit over the last week or so, I finally got out to the range this afternoon to give it one more try. Only shooting at the 7 yard wire, slow fire, my XDs was actually hitting the 3" mark. Rapid fire, strong hand only, still able to keep every round inside a 15" diameter circle, and that's the first time I've tried rapid fire with this gun. My son (the one that would make a perfect beta tester for any semi-auto maker) had problems, as usual. Several light strikes, which I think came down to the slide not going full battery .... it also happened with him during the few rounds he shot through it before the recall. I have yet to experience any malfunction myself. And, for what it's worth, he can make my CW9 choke (also the same guy that could never get his perfectly good Kimber to work "for him"). For the record, he does have a CM9 that he can make sing.

I only had time to put about 40 rounds through the XDs this afternoon, but if the next couple hundred rounds prove as successful (for me) as those today, I'll be ordering leather.
