We all have our choices. I lived on the wet side for over 30 years. I didn't really expect to like the climate over here in the winter. But, I wouldn't go back now.

And, I haven't shoveled a scoop of snow. I think just three times this year I simply drove the tractor up and down the driveway. Done.

It's all in having the right equipment.

To me it's all about not having to leave the farm. Air drop provisions, food, ammo, scotch and make the world go away.

Give me 1000 acres (completely fenced and a moat would be nice) with a range, no neighbors to b!tch and wine and I'd be totally content.

Told my son about Windham's current promotions and sales. Doesn't he stop at Vance Outdoors and check out this:

Calls this afternoon and says "Guess what's riding in the back seat of the truck?"

I am beyond GREEN with envy. Damn, I want one. Hell I want one of each size, brand, configuration, caliber.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Your like that wise man on the mountain, in one sentence you've summed up the solution or lack there of of all my issues. A damn check.

Why does it always have to be about money.

Heck that Beiber kid could write me a check and all my troubles would be over and I'd live happily ever after, secluded and no bother to nobody. Simple.

In that case I have one more thought for you. You can always make more money, time gone by is gone forever. That's the saying for folks who are always wanting to wait to get what they want.

There are a few more decisions. Do you want a lake on your acreage, or not?

You just described my dream location.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

This thread does bring up a conundrum. I was thinking I needed to get an optic for the carbine I have, something like a 1x6 scope next. But, maybe I need to get another rifle first and then buy optics with a quantity discount or something.

I was in a similar position, a year ago. The Marine I train with was strongly recommending (insisting) I add a red dot sight to my AR.

At the time, I was using an M4 design, complete with carry handle and FSB. The thought of removing 150 dollars worth of hardware to add my optic of choice seemed wasteful. After much deliberation, I decided the best solution to my conundrum was to purchase a sight-ready carbine.

The Windham SRC filled that need very nicely.

Life is good when our greatest conundrum can be resolved by simply buying another gun.

                            Exactly.

No need to have spare parts, just buy some spare guns.

Windham shipped my new baby today, ETA 3/5. Have 300 rounds in the safe plus a Lula mag loader. FFL is mounting a Nikon M-308 scope. Will post pics after shooting.

Put 100 flawless rounds through it today sighting in and familiarization. Pardon the poor group as I shot from a sandbag and I'm not as steady as I used to be. Someone with skills and target ammo will get 1 MOA or better accuracy. Ate Prvi 145gr brass, Tulammo 150gr steel and Federal 180gr brass with no hiccups at all. Very well built and finished. Completely stock except added a rubber buttpad. I'm going to like shooting this rifle.
