    You get what you need

Well this is a tough crowd.
Most of you are old school 1911 guys.
So If I'm joining the club? I need to represent.
Actually thought I bought a used Wilson Combat.
Thought it was a good deal.
    Took a chance.
And now the money's gone and I'm working with Law Enforcement
Got really depressed and unhappy about it.
    That's no way to live.
    And life is too short.
I really don't like to loose.
So while I work with the FBI, Phoenix PD and Broward County Sheriff Department.
Decided to move on and get a sweet bob tail commander while I wait.
$1,500 for a NIB V-Bob seemed like a nice deal.
You can't always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes well you might find.
    You get what you need

And the V-Bob sings to me...

Nothing wrong with that deal at all, you done super good in my book.

The VBob sings to me too. Could be a durn duet maybe.

I wouldn't look down the nose of the Vbob to look at a Wilson. I want a Wilson bad, make no mistake about that but chances are it will never happen.

Like you say, you get what you need and in this case it's very good.

I carry a DW CCO everyday. I think DW's are the best production 1911 money can buy. I own an older Ed Brown Executive Elite, the DW is almost as good for half the price.
If for some reason, I lost mine, I would buy another in a skinny minute.

I've seen ransom rest tests where DW Valors out shot some much more expensive 1911s.
Thinking this DW V-Bob might be a keeper

I'd probably not sleep a wink until it was in my loving awaiting hands.

Your HK days just may be over, I'm serious and I mean that. Could be an HK clearance sale right here on Kahrtalk.

I won't sleep well till the gun is in my hands.
                        You know that...
As for my Hks? That's a bold statement freind.
But there's no way I'm going to deny this V-BOB could upset the balance of things...

While the V-bob is your chosen gateway into the 1911 universe, there are those that would argue the DW Valor line is several levels above "entry level".
Regardless, I think you made an excellent choice.
                          Regards,

^^^ agreed. You did good Barth. A DW 1911 has been singing like the Vienna Boys' Choir to me for ages. It's been tough holding off. But if I ever run across a RZ10, I just might cave...

                            The V-Bob has Landed

Don't have the custom grips yet.
                            Haven't shot it yet.
But I must say; the fit, finish and build appear outstanding.
Dry fire of the trigger is golden.
If it's a reliable bullseye gun?
Bawanna might be right on this one...

Looks damn good to me. Has it got one of them hook on your belt type rear sights? Looks like it from this angle.

If it doesn't sing for you you'll have no problem finding a good home for it but I don't forsee that happening.

A lot of unused and forgotten HK's but not this one.

Looks like slim grips which I much prefer. Hopefully the trick ones you ordered are thin also. Gonna be sweet!

Sights are not marked as such.
But they are definitely Heinie Straight Eights.
                                The factory grips are slim.
As are the trick grips inbound
                                OMG I love this gun.
                                It's not heavy at all.
                                Great balance and natural pointing.
If it shoots like it feels?
                                The Hk's are in trouble.

You might be very right about this one old friend.
                                This thing is the bomb!
