  • Anyone sign up yet on Healthcare.gov?

Curiosity has gotten the better of me so I tried to create an account on Healthcare.gov. Seriously I have been trying since Tuesday at 04:00 and have not been able to get on it yet. Keep getting "We're busy" errors

Funny. In all seriousness though, Amazon and Ebay host millions of visits an hour and conduct millions of flawless transactions a day but the "government" can't. This is just more proof that our "government" was ill-prepared for this Obamination.

Ok, you cannot make this stuff up:

The phone number for this mess is 1-800-318-2596 which when converted to the letters on a dialpad come out as 1-800-F*CKYO.

        Seriously.....

I wonder if anyone on this forum would admit it if they did. I would certainly be checking it out if I didn't already have VA and private insurance through my wife's employer. Anyone that doesn't have insurance and wants it should check it out. Of course if they don't want insurance and break their neck they should just lay quietly in a ditch and die.

Exactly my thoughts as well except I don't want the government to tell what to do or make my decision for me.

Those that should just lie and die in the ditch are not gonna buy this insurance.

Nothing will change except you won't be able to see your doctor without 11 months notice and then you probably won't be covered.

The ditch personally sounds more appealing.

This is good stuff for the give me, give me, feed me, give me a phone crowd though.

If anyone doesn't realize it.... Signing up puts yourself at great risks to separating you from your firearm.
I'd go illegal alien and just show up at an ER with no insurance before I ever got into that system!

I'm in a grandfathered (pre March 2010) private family policy, but it also meets ACA minimums as well. It's a semi high end plan. I expect the premium to go thru the roof as people leave for ACA based plans and the pool I'm in gets older and sicker (no new entrants as of Oct 1).

But I will ROT in hell before I drop it and register w/ the federal exchange (my state thank goodness opted to skip creating an exchange) and buy the bull *hit coverage they are pawning.

Of course, I suppose I'll loose it anyway unless the country grows a spine and develops a 'pair' and forces Congress to undo it. Under the current mess they've created, its gonna all collapse under its own weight in less than a decade anyway and go single payer, full-on government run healthcare. It's just gonna be curious to see how that goes down when health insurance companies go completely under and doctors are forced to become government employees. Can hardly wait. Gonna laugh my freakin' butt off.

I checked out the WA health plan website just now. My employer pays for my medical right now, but we did have Group Death last year. Change in the ACA approved plans and what I had last year (which has the exact same premium that we did last year, if including the employer paid portion of the premium): I had a $750 deductible last year and a $25 co-pay. This plan has a $6500 deductible and a $0 co-pay after the deductible. Rediculous.

I had private insurance until recently, when I had to let it lapse, because my wife and I cannot afford the $14,000.00 a year they want for $10,000.00 deductible, that pays for nothing and basically is an insurance policy that keeps you from going bankrupt in event of a major medical problem. I tried for a year to talk to someone about a cheaper plan, and they weren't interested..........they probably figured that If I was foolish enough to keep paying, they were happy to take my money. They now have sent me a letter, explaining that since I purchased my original policy before March 23, 2010, I can be exempt from the healthcare changes. They didn't mention how much this would cost. Screwed either way. We are not sure what we are going to do. The POTUS was right, you can keep your insurance if you like it, but I figure, now, they probably want $20,000.00 a year. My state also opted to not start the exchange. In 3 years, my premiums quadrupled. A real dilemma.
