  • 42% Obama 42% Tea Party

A Rasmussen poll says 42% of likely voters think Obama's views are closest to their own, the same percent say the Tea Party's views are closest.

Problem is, the poll didn't say what any of those views were. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...ber_26_27_2013

That makes the O support suspect at best, since his stated views all turn out to be the direct opposite of what he actually does and seems to believe.

I'm surprised the Tea Party support is so high, given how they're routinely bashed and propagandized as anarchists and such.

The Tea Party is our whole problem, or any third party for that matter. The right thinking people who value the constitution, and adhere to conservative values are torn between republicans/rinos and whatever the flavor of the month third party is.
Where as the takers, communist facist swine with their free phones, illegal voting practices and carelessness about America, it's history or it's future are all on board with the Dumbocrats.

We have to find a solid runner and get both the split parties on the same page or we'll get Hildog.

Obamacare may be the very thing that will swing enough voters away from the dark side and to the Tea Party and Republicans in 2016 so this terrible law can be repealed.....Obama has a 15% core group of black voters that voted for him in 2008 and 2012 for the simple reason that he's black and it wouldn't have mattered if he had a tail and horns growing out of his head it would have been the same, he's black and looks like me so I'm voting for him, end of story....

Another 10% were Union and Government workers that bought into the party line and voted Democrat simply because it was good for their personal jobs and interests, the good of the country be damned, gimme mine...

!0% of Obama voters were College Students who were drunk on kool aid and will probably vote for Hillary in 2016 anyway so they are hopeless unless they start to see what a disaster Obamacare is and in 2016 when they face either paying a huge portion of their monthly income for a healthcare plan they don't want or need but are forced to buy anyway or the IRS comes after them for not paying the fines then maybe that bunch will come out of their Obama trance...

I think the voters that will make the swing are the retirees in their late 60's that have been life long Democrat voters because they loved FDR for saving the world and their Daddy and Grandaddy always voted Democrat so they did too...These are the one's that were happy with Medicare and their supplemental health insurance plan that cost them $250.00 a month or so and suddenly they get the letter they have been dropped and now must bow down to ObamaGod and pay $1200.00 a month with a $10.000 deductable for a plan that offers way less benefits than their old one did....Now this is the group that will be MAD as HELL and will vote for someone like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul that will repeal Ovomitcare and give them their financial lives and healthcare choices back....

You left out the 40 percent whites who voted for him because otherwise they would have been perceived as racist.

I was honestly ready to vote for the other black guy, forgot his name but he bowed out after they aired his dirty laundry, I liked him, he seemed to have a plan and I would have given him a chance.

Sometimes dirty laundry doesn't really matter in the big picture.

Well you got dumbocrates, republicans, and tea party, along with communist, earth, who knows what other nameless also ran parties.

Three semi real parties, why isn't it a third party?

Like the first fiasco we had McCain and Romney on the same ticket. Romney did the man thing and bowed out so the vote wouldn't be split. It didn't work the POS still won.

It's sort of like taking your wife to Lowes, the less options available the better.

The Tea Party isn't a third party. The tea party people are the conservatives who are trying to re-establish a limited constitutional government and remove from power the abortion that now serve as our government. The only way to restore our limited constitutional government is to oust those who would compromise our values. When you compromise with a socialist that compromise becomes the new normal. The first thing that the socialist asks after a compromise is, "What portion of your freedom are you willing to compromise on next?" Right now the republican party is considered the party of "No". It needs to become the party of "HELL NO!"

                  Muggsy, you are wrong!

It needs to become the party of - "Hell NO, we are going to do this the correct way!"

The Tea Party is the last group of people standing in the way of full-on socialism. If they fail whether as a part of the GOP or as a new more-powerful-than-the-libertarian-party, then all is lost. The Libertarian party has been an OK movement with marginal success, but they have not, do not, will not, represent any larger a faction than they already do.

I'm sure the Whigs thought a third party was a stupid idea as well. But the time has come for the GOP establishment to end their John-McCain-Mitt-Romney-Paul-Ryan-Marco-Rubio-Mitch-McConnel bullcrap and vote for and develop party leadership that represents the 42% mentioned in this article. If they cannot, then a third party needs to rise out of the GOP and bring along those Democrats that TRULY believe in freedom and values. Leave the liberal/progressive pukes and the spying/big-government/conservative compromisers behind. For the record, I'm all for kicking the ever-loving-sh*t out of whoever whenever necessary, including the Iranians, Iraqis, North Koreans, yadda yadda.

If the country still goes down, so be it, but at least we will have gone down for what is right instead of some loser compromise plan that makes 11 million illegals legal...makes 1.5 million people loose their insurance coverage...makes millions upon millions of new moochers that crawl over each other to suckle on the governmental teet.

                    Enough!!!

I'm having a great day, well as great as can be expected surrounded by violets. Ever since Muggsy brought up the Carcano/Manlicher, I've been rolling around with a pretty good chubby, a smile on my face, and a song in my heart.

First I need to find me a grassy knoll within driving distance. Don't fly on account of the storm troopers wanting to grope me and not allow anything pointier than my elbow on a plane.

Just to clarify I'm probably a Tea Partier myself, but in order to win and get to work returning things to the way they should be we have to draw a line.

Democrat and Everything else. If we have a Democrat option, a Republican Option and a Tea Party option or a Tea party who doesn't endorse and vote for the Republican option then the Democrat wins. Every time.

                              Thanks muggsy!

Bawanna, I agree ... but it needs to go a different direction. GOP establishment needs to be DUMPED in favor of the Constitution. If we loose, we loose. Let the liberal/progressives implode the whole damn shooting match. Enough. But in order to get thing to return to the way they should work, you are talking undoing 100+ years of stupidity and the establishment is not gonna do it (GOP Rinos and Democrats). They like their money and power. So, gotta stand by my principles no matter what. I will never again vote for the likes of what the GOP has been floating for the last couple of decades. Never. Never. Never. The way things SHOULD work do not include Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Social Security, DHS, IRS, EPA, Dept of Education, yadda yadda. Until those and a pile of others are gone, I'm done w/ the GOP in its establishment form...if that whacks my nose to spite my face, so be it!
