Is this what Obamacare will be like?

I just paid for this tumor removal out of pocket because I wanted the best doctors who do this particular surgery often. They were out of Kaiser, so Kaiser was a pain in the butt for sure! My doctors were awesome and so was the surgery center. Everyone was fantastic and provided excellent service. It was the best medical experience ever (not like a normal hospital). Why? Because they are competing for business. They know if they offer good service, they will have customers willing to pay. You take that away (ie socialized medicine) and you will get squat for service. Can everyone afford that? No. They can buy lesser health plans, but those health plans should still compete for customers. I have one of those health plans. But I am thinking of changing to a Health Insurance Account or something else because I feel Kaiser has not served me well, and I vote with my money. Maybe that will make Kaiser better. It is already bad enough, but if you take out the capitalism, the customer won't get squat for service. Sorry for the rant post, I'm still recovering and on Vicodin.

If I may, as a healthcare guy, tell you what's going on behind the scene.
Very good doctors are setting up cash/credit card practices and opting out of the insurance system. In other words those who want the best and are willing to pay for those services these are the new way to do the medical practice business. The rest of you poor slobs will get the obamacare style treatment and the VA will be the best healthcare out there.
I have been to many VAMC's and met many extremely grateful doctors that feel honored to provide care to our Vets. I am happy to say I have not met any a holes.....

If you have to have a Muslim Surgeon, you better make sure your will is up to date.

Hell yes I want a Muslim for my surgeon. Haven't you seen how well they wield a knife? Seriously, the doctor who placed the stents in my arteries is a Muslim and I trusted him with my life.

yep there is a class of doctoring called "concierge medicine" also which is blossoming too. The only problem there is if your needs are large, you still cannot afford it. Sore throats, running nose, warts, fungal infections ect will be easier to get treated and service will be top shelf. Coronary bypass surgery and all bets are off.
