I guess Mandella and his people went through a lot of crap. If I put myself in his shoes, I probably would have been a bit radical too. I kind of feel that he may have had no choice in the matter. However, this being said, he did end up getting results without extensive violence and his leadership has resulted in a relatively peaceful improvement to the people of his country....unlike Syria or even the US civil war for that matter. I don't really know a whole lot about Mandela and I can not say much pro nor con... but he is obviously a respected leader / man.

Bush went because he's a former Head of State. Why Cruz went is a mystery to me. He probably went just for the photo op. Is is going to be running for president. Scored some black brownie points.

Mandela was the Yasser Arafat like figurehead of the ANC which was/is a quasi Communist radical terriorist group which after taking power back in 1994 basically turned the Nation of South Africa into a sub 3rd world poverty and disease ridden cesspool of a Country....

Now we hear that the guy vetted and approved by the S. African Government to be the sign language interpreter for the deaf and stand less than 3 feet away from most of the free worlds most powerful leaders was a total FAKE... How's that for organization and security?....The Taliban missed a great opportunity there....One guy infected with Small Pox could have taken out most of the worlds leaders and nobody noticed the guy wasn't doing anything but waving his arms around like he was leading the band........Too Funny

Interesting. I am called a lot of things but liberal is usually way down on the list. Furthermore, I re read my replies and I don't see the liberal slant to them. They maybe provocative to the main membership here but certainly not liberal IMHO.
I keep telling myself that I will not participate in the political sub forum but I keep coming back. I'll shut the Fukk up for good this time. Will chat with you guys on the other sub forums. There is plenty for me to get into without having to go here.

Don't feel bad, even Ted Cruz and Newt Gingrich admire Nelson as a freedom fighter and hero.

The Israeli's were terrorists, before they became a nation. They bombed some hotels and things and killed around 700 people in their fight to gain independence from Britain. Few seem to know this, or it's kept quiet. Yet now they are or used to be our best friend in the Middle East. Until Obama screwed that up. Many of Israel's leaders and top Generals in the recent past were involved in this. Most think they were fighting for a just cause, and accept the deaths as wartime casualties. Unlike Mandela though, they took a desert and made it into lush green fields, and built modern cities and improved the land immensely, so that the Arabs desperately want now. Instead of turning a modern well kept city into another Detroit, full of violent crime as happened under Mandela and his sucessors.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. The thing that we all must remember is that history is written by the victors. When our country falls to socialism, socialism will have become the best thing since sliced bread. We will all suffer equally. Won't that be wonderful?

What upsets me the most about all of this BS is that I see NO good reason to fly our Nations flag a half mast for a week!!!!!!!!

Of course many things that are happening in our country are not as they should be!!
