I wonder how many of us had a change of opinion on Pope Francis after his latest message; where he gave us his ideas on some changes to the Catholic Church, after the 3rd Vatican Council was concluded. Pope Francis declared that: That Catholicism is now "a modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance, we must realize that religious truth evolves and changes. Truth is not absolute or set in stone. Even the atheists acknowledge the God as well, and redeems hhis own soul becoming and active participant in the redemption of humanity. I wonder what God, who is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, thinks about all this talk about religious truths evolving and not being set in stone. I think he may not share that opinion.
Among the points The Pope made are:
1. The church no longer believes in a literal Hell, where people suffer, Ok then what about the lake of fire in Revelations?
2. All religions are true, because people are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. So I guess no problem if you believe in child sacrifice or any number of cults, "they are all true".
3. In the past the Church has been harsh on those it deemed morally wrong or sinful. Today we no longer judge. Like a loving father we never condemn or children. Our church is big enough for heterosexuals and homosexuals, for the Pro-life and the Pro-Choice. For conservatives and for liberals. Even communists are welcome. (Would Josef Stalin be welcomed into the church after killing almost 40 million of his own people, as well as the Chinese who killed another 40-50 million). We all worship and love the same god. (hogwash) Allah is the name of the moon goddess, not YWJH.
4. The Bible is a beautiful and holy book, but some parts have become outdated. So god has changed his mind on some things?
5. They will begin to ordain women as Cardinals, Bishops and Priests. He hopes to see a woman Pope someday. Let no door be closed to Women that is open to men. ( I agree somewhat, but why didn't they address the issue of letting priests marry, and possibly eliminate some of the pedophilia that is so rampant in the Church)
6. He condemned Racism, and declared that those who would dare turn their backs on immigrants, are turning their backs on Christ himself. (ok, tell that to the Europeans that are being overrun by muslims, and to our own states that are being overrun by illegal aliens.) And those that reject immigrants, may be excommunicated by the Church.
The Popes speech has caused some prominent Priests, Cardinals, and Bishops to leave the Church in disgust. While the liberal media is just lapping this crap up and are overjoyed.
I don't know, but I'm sure not as big of supporter as I once was, which probably doesn't make a difference since I'm not Catholic. I think he chose some things to address, that he has no business in, like the immigration policies of countries, and did not address some things maybe he should have, like letting Priests get married, and doing whatever else they can to combat the pedophiles in the Church.
Anyone else not very pleased with his address? You can read more of it here:
