      Priceless
Understand the thought and all but to me sometimes it is just to much fun to argue with em and have them admit to being that which they claim not to be and have them deny that they have done so for everyone else to see.

Hey Rev, welcome back…..I'm still praying.

          There is one liberal that has become a conservative and his name is;
Charles Krauthammer. It's true, and he explains it in his book, "Things that
          Matter".
I know that is the exception to the rule.

However,I do like talking to liberals who aren't hard core (fence sitters) because every once in a while they see the light.
I know…..maybe they are not true liberals. Maybe their parents were liberals,
and now for the first time they are taking a serious look at the world.
A lot of these folks tend to be young and intelligent but have been so involved in their own lives that they don't know what's going on around them. So there is hope for some, and you usually can tell early on in the conversation…... because a true hard core liberal doesn't listen!

OK I confess. I was a liberal at one time but have changed over the years. Owning my own business helped that metamorphosis a lot.

I usually just ask............" What have the libs/POTUS/govt done for you personally, that has made your life better"? They never have an answer, and I just walk away................it's the same when I get into discussions about our governor, and the big recall hub bub............I ask, " Besides lowering your taxes and getting our state out of debt, and refusing any gov't money with strings attached, what has he done to you personally, that has affected your life?" I get the same answer.

I understand your point, but I think you have to be careful with this approach. I worked with a woman that was a liberal and she used the exact same argument from the other side. She supports liberal because her life was better when Clinton was POTUS. What she didn't understand was that your life can be better for many reasons and it all can't be attributed to a single individual that occupies the White House. Life situations change over time and you have to make sure the details of the "better life" are indeed attributable to the government policies you support.

IMHO, I don't think it's about us personally. It's about what's good for the nation, and sometimes sacrifice is required.

That's exactly what I was talking about.

Not ALL liberals are hopeless! However, that is the exception to the rule.

Clinton got lucky................all the cards were in place for the economy to prosper, not because of him. Because of what others did before him..........

You will find many liberals who have become conservatives, but very few conservatives who have become liberals. The saying goes that if you are twenty and are not a liberal you have no heart and if you are still a liberal at 40 you have no brain. Generally I find that statement to be true. Youth is emotional and with age comes wisdom. There are however exceptions to the rule. They call themselves democrats.

Government isn't supposed to be there to help the individual, but rather to promote the general welfare of all.

The economy did well under Clinton, because the House and Senate were controlled by the republicans. The economy did well under Bush until the House and Senate were taken back by the democrats. That's a fact, Jack.
