I'm not a single-issue voter and I swing my vote based on what I can sus out of each candidate, campaign and agenda. And sometimes I end up voting for the wrong person on both sides because the lies are so thick.
What's appalling is the lack of finite examples for the point you're trying to make. How far do you trust a party that is strongly for more gun control and possibly even confiscation?

if shootings, murders, gun crimes were really bothering people there would be a push to enforce laws on the books, add harsher punishment, write new stronger laws, have the national guard sweep neighborhoods confiscating illegal weapons and arresting the holders. have you seen any of that? do you think the gun/ammo industry and their lobby would ever let any major changes to the gun landscape change for the worse? what happens after a mass shooting and the anti-gun folks get on the news? gun sales spike. gun/ammo industry loves that.

Are you that easily appalled? It's just laziness on my part since I'm usually on a smartphone and don't care to author a comprehensive treatise on a strongly conservative message board. Frankly based on your appalled emotional reaction, I doubt that effort would be worth my time anyway, explaining how true personal libertarianism extends well across both parties.

Don't take the bait, take back the center.

the "Center", a mystical place inhabited by members of both parties, a safe place that appeals to many voters and doesn't challenge the powers to be, a boring place where little if anything gets done.
I'm growing weary of the so called right wing claiming that everything they don't like is commie or liberal, there hasn't been a decent liberal in politics since the 1930's. a few left leaning centerists but nobody that's a liberal. sorry, the breed is extinct.
there's a rumor that some times in the cure of a disease it has to get worse before it gets better, to test that theory, I'd like to see the tea party favorites, Gohmert and Bachmann go to the White House and run the country. get rid of Soc. Sec., Medicare, min. wage, education, science, all that stuff the right hates. maybe lynch some of them "muslims", yeehaw! yep, that would show the world who we really are, maybe some americans would wake up too.
