Ya know, there is a very mischievous and contrarian part of me that if I had a few thousand in spare cash, absolutely would set up a fake hardware store and hire actors to dead-pan parody that video. "Hammer Sale!" "First-time hammer owners welcome!" "Concealed Hammer Classes taught here!" would be pasted on the windows. I'd require every purchaser to fill out background check papers and I'd be sure to video the guy denied because of a questionable Sheetrock situation in 1987. I'd show buyers a bunch of shocking photos of bruised, broken, bloody and nail-less thumbs and would rattle off appalling rates of injury. I'd show several used hammers with known (and nefariously unknown) histories where someone at a construction zone was sent to the emergency room and taken off the crew for days without pay and sending his marriage into a tailspin. I might even arrange a scene where some enthusiast asks for a semi-automatic hammer. You know, a pneumatic nail gun. Painted black with a tactical light, sling and crosshair laser bolted on for optimal accuracy. And dramatic music. Can't forget the dramatic music and careful use of lighting and line editing.

As a followup, I'd arrange an Open Hammer Carry event at a coffee shop and record people's reactions. I might even hire an actress holding a baby to berate the carpenters for their "little nail" obsession.

haha, you forgot to add in there that lies are 73.6% more believable when backed by statistics.

              ScottM,
.27 cal. Ramset Cobra, w/red dot? everyday is open carry- tool belt with sharp screw drivers, couple of linoleum knives, cocked/locked nailer. waah!
TrueValue is the new gun store. thanks. google power nailers, most of the hits are not about nailers but using the power blanks to shoot pellets or ball bearings out of some home made gun. typically the ATF is snoozing on this. when people lose their job, they go somewhere else and take up space there. do failed ATF agents go to the SEC or is it the other way around?

That vid is a bunch of propaganda bullsh*t. I see they won’t allow comments. Stupid leftist. Why don’t they do that with cars. Or bicycles? More are killed each year by that than guns. Those leftist plainly don’t give a crap about our bill of rights. The things that kill more than guns are not a right, such as driving, extreme sports etc. There are far more fatalities in those than guns. Gun ownership is a right. The government kills more people with all their legislature and regulation. Let’s ban the government.

It's absolutely propaganda BS and they created it for that specific reason. Expect to see a lot more of this kind of thing, not just as it relates to guns but every topic and from every political angle, because it's effective with a lot of people of all types, just like those horrid mudraking negative political ads we're bombarded with every 2-4 years.

Orders of magnitude more. In fact, I wonder if there are any statistics on hammer-related deaths. Or is TrueValue conspiring to inhibit those studies...

                        A couple of points:
                        • People walked into the store. In NYC! They were either genuinely interested in purchasing a firearm, or plants.
                        • If the latter, you can't do anything about that.
                        • If the former, it's a great opportunity for education (not the kind they're forwarding in the video.)

I think we should repeat the experiment, only this time:
                        • inform people properly of the differences, advantages, disadvantages of each type.
                        • inform them they need proper training
                        • inform them of situations where guns saved lives.
                        • inform them that it doesn't matter, because you can't have one in NYC, anyway.

And videotape the exchanges, of course.

is there anybody on this board from Vermont? are you the typical Subaru driving commie that voted for Bernie Sanders? could you take a shot at explaining why Vermont(the bluest of the Blue states) has no particular gun laws , no CCW permits, no concealed or open carry laws, just do your own thing and if ya want a gun, sure, fine?

I'm not from Vermont..........I have slept at a Holiday Inn................I drive a Subaru...................I didn't vote for Bernie......................and, what's wrong with Vermont's laws. They just let you do what your rights give you the right to do. They also have some of the lowest crime numbers in the U.S. I believe they are around 69% less than the average, in murder and shooting rates. Reading some of your previous rants, with bad grammar and punctuation, lead me to believe that you may be wasting your vote on Hilldabeast in the future.
