It really baffles me when we are having such racial divide that it appears certain people are just putting gasoline on the fire. I really think that by using that term lowers their integrity. I know a point was trying to be made, but is that really the correct way to go about it? Why not discuss mental illness which I think this shooter was affected with. Then don't go on about gun control when we learn the way he came about the ownership of the gun, was through a straw purchase since he had a felony arrest and was not eligible to own a gun. If the gun laws were followed in this case, he would not of had a gun, but his father broke the law by giving him the gun. Just my .02 cents.

Certain people really have no integrity. They are just posing to be something they aren't since they were raised no where close to the inner city. They use that word trying to get attention for themselves and look cool and point a finger at someone else because they have no leadership skills, only the ability to organize and manipulate foolish minded people to distract the counrty from the fact that they are a failure and only won office because those who voted for him wanted some social experiment to make us more like Europe. I mean look, the head of the IMF basically was being a pimp for world leaders and said it was part of the way things worked. Tell me we're not faced with the same thing at our leaders residence.

Can you guess who I'm referring to???

I got distracted. To agree with your last point, yep, if the law would have been followed there would have been no shooting.

I don't understand it, But it's in about every rap song by many black rappers. And I've even heard some of these white punk rap listening kids refer to each other as my N's. On one hand you have folks that wouldn't ever use the word, on the other, you have people throwing it around like any other word. I don't understand if they find it so offensive, then why do they use it among themselves so often. A black friend told me his pastor's wife was showing him her new car, and the PASTOR got him off to the side and told him N....r don't you be putting your eyes on my wife. Really torqued my friend off, he was just looking at her car, and he is happily married. The church ended up firing him over some shady dealings they caught him scheming up. Just as well if that is how he treats the deacons in the church he was employed by. They aren't going to let the word die, they are just going to get upset when white people use it. I think maybe they like to use it because they can know they can get away with it, while white people can't.

Anybody ever consider that maybe the "feelings" or "actions" people may have towards a specific race is stereotyping and not really racism?

BTW, stereotypes exist based on example.

I'm just kinda miffed about the reverse racism that's going on. "We can do and act as we want because we are entitled, but you can't treat us any differently based on how we act because that's racism!"

How about we fly our confederate flag because we want to celebrate our southern history. And you can continue to celebrate whatever Non-American history you want!

I will fly my Lone Star Flag along side the Stars & Stripes.

The Confederate Battle Flag does not belong on the top of any state capitol, but museums/memorials/graves are a different thing.

I have no problem with good honest hard working black people, but I can't stand niggers regardless of the color of their skin. Just making a point like our president did.

In a certain town in Southern Oregon the city dads passed an ordinance banning the use of the N word. A contingent of black folks approached the town council and were really upset. They said "That's our word and we demand the right to be able to use it". They call each other that all the time, but white folks cannot...

The Confederate flag symbolizes to most people whatever they want it to in their mind. And they are generally wrong.
Its kinda of a funny thing today- people are finding themselves at odds daily with the same enemy that the Confederates fought. That war was over 150 years ago, yet we continue to fight it, and these people are from every state in this "union". Instead of calling themselves Rebels, today they all see themselves as Patriots.
The South lost the first war. I believe America will lose the next one. I don't think we can save it.

The South seceded from the Union over the issue of states rights, not over the issues of slavery. Many blacks willingly fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. The Stars and Bars were never the official flag of the Confederacy. The Stars and Bars were a Confederate Battle Flag. A lot of noise is being made over a few pieces of cloth. You can burn the American flag as a form of free speech, but you can't fly the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of honor for those who gave their lives for their beliefs. I'm living in a world that I don't understand.

A piece of cloth, that stands for whatever most people want it to stand for. Pride, hate, heritage. Maybe if they taught history, they might know a little more about it. Too many think the War of Northern Aggression was fought to free the slaves, when Lincoln himself said if leaving the slaves alone would end the war, he'd leave them as slaves. The emancipation proclamation only freed slaves in rebel held territory, and didn't free a single slave that was in a state that was not in rebellion. I wonder how many black people know that? I'm sure that isn't taught in schools. I think it was glossed over when I was in school. It would probably cause a riot these days.

We're living in a Godless, perverted, if it feels good do it world, with few morals, and where life is cheap. People die over a wearing the wrong color in the wrong part of town. Some kids get entertainment from knocking some guy out that's not expecting it. Women have babies by several different men, to collect that check every month. Men are taught to be sensitive and feminine by the schools, then women cry about their being no real men, and end up dating jail birds, because those are "real men". People feel entitled to things they didn't earn, and try and take them from those who earned it. Some folks get unhinged at the mere sight of a gun, while some use them indiscriminately, instead of settling things with their fists, it turns into a shootout, unless one guy has 10 homeboys with him and the other guy is alone or maybe only has a couple homeboys. Thankfully the vast majority use guns as intended for self defense and hunting and sports.
When they kicked God out of the schools, and quit teaching moral values, things began to change. Often school was the only place some kids got any moral guidance at all, with lousy parents, or one parent too busy to teach them much of anything, and no Church life. Now the socialist progressives have taken over the schools, it's all about indoctrination instead of education. Kids graduate reading at 4th grade level, but that's ok, move them through and get them out on the streets, unless they are a good ball player, then they'll try and work with them some. Don't dare hold them back a grade and make them learn something, and hurt their self esteem. Why even keep up the charade, when a kid has learned all he is going too, and school is just to hook up with girls or get dope, go ahead and give them their diploma and quit wasting time with them. The world needs wrench turners and burger flippers just as much as it needs doctors and engineers. Concentrate on the few that actually want an education. Get rid of the troublemakers.
I don't understand this country either, but I can see some of what caused us to be where we are at. This nation was founded on Biblical principles, and freedom OF religion, not FROM religion. Even atheists have a god, they call it evolution. I don't expect things to get any better. Not with this current gang of crooks we have running the country, or anyone likely to replace them. Mostly they care more about the corporations and lining their pockets, than they do about the people they are supposed to represent. I'll give a few of them credit for at least appearing to be honest, but appearances can be deceiving. We need to vote the whole mess of them out, but everyone thinks their congressman is doing a bang up job, and votes them back in. Or they don't want to vote for a Republican, or a Democrat. And term limits are sorely needed. 2 terms are plenty. But that will never happen.

That was kinda my point- we are still fighting for states rights. Except now its nearly every state....not just the Southern states.

the laws are written and some times even enforced. in this case I can only hope that father and son do many years in cells next to each other.

I just read that he bought a Glock .45 from a gun store, because his arrest was only a misdemeanor and his background check went through. I have no idea if that is accurate or not.
One of these days we'll be able to separate the facts from the fiction.

On a more positive note, Charleston has told the race baiters to stay away, No Sharpton, No Obama, and for sure one guy that seems to make a living off of stirring up trouble DeRay McKesson. Although he's trying his best to start something. They don't need no riots and looting and such. Good for them!

Most adults in the "REAL" south got past the race issue many years ago and treat each other with respect. We don't want problems anymore. Having lived in the south and NE I can tell you I heard a MANY more racial slurs in the NE and if you ask me the democrat strongholds have i lot more of a problem to resolve than the deep south.

What I see more now here is the issue of the media manipulating the weak minded youth in their teens and 20's of all races and my fear is the things that were resolved in the past will return only reversed. I hope Charleston shows how it should really be handeled.
