He signed the pledge. If he wont stand up to the Republican establishment what makes you think he will stand up to anyone else?

Trump is not a liar, unlike Obama who also had no military experience. Obama has done nothing but rabble rouse and divide his entire career. Trump has built an empire and will surround himself with highly qualified people, not like-mined far-left, academic ideologue's like Obama did. Unlike Obama, Trump loves this country. The hardest thing for him, will be to find high ranking military officers worth a damn since Obama has canned most of them. The man is no dummy and will come up to speed quickly on world affairs.

He pledged he would stay in the Republican party, never pledged he would kiss their butts.

Trump cannot run all the holdings he has but they are all very successful. Any management training I took in my long career taught how to select the right people for the right job. That is exactly what he has done and it why he is so successful. I doubt if you will see him promoting any college professors to military leadership. My problem with him is the way he has flip - flopped on issues that are important to me. Abortion, gay marriage, gun control etc. We'll see. There is a lot of time before the election

Deadeye, I agree with his flip flop issues and most people have flip flopped on issues over their lifetime. I think a lot of us seem to get more conservative the older we get, I know I have. But there is no doubt he would lead be a strong leader. He may be a bit over the top with the illegal immigration rhetoric, but at least he is talking about it, and WILL do something about it and political correctness be damned.

The abortion issue is not that important to me personally, except the government funding of Planned Parenthood, nor is gay marriage........those should be states issues in my eyes. Gun control is another story, but I don't think that is anything he is super concerned about. He has a carry permit if that means anything. One really big thing I like, is he is not in bed with lobbyists or special interests, so he says what he feels, not what he is being told. He accused all the other candidates of pandering to them, and none of them have denied it. Also, doubtful he will ever use a teleprompter, he speaks from his mind and heart. Like you say, we will see, a lot can happen between now and the primaries.

Yeah, Kodiak I agree those should be state issues. Ovomit and his minions have moved nearly everything to the federal level and that is wrong. Haven't heard Trump talk a whole lot about the issue of state vs fed. They all talk about smaller fed government but haven't heard any real plans yet. It is really too early to be laying out plans as the lame stream media and libtards will go on full attack. Hopefully as time goes on more details will come out. At this point I like Don, Ben and Carly. We'll see.

Trump and Ted Cruz, who I also like, are going to have a rally on Capitol Hill to show their disdain for the Iran nuke deal sometime in the near future. No date has been set, but it should draw a good sized crowd. There is also talk of Trump having Cruz as his running mate should he get the GOP nomination. Anyone that thinks Trump is a liberal would have to wonder he would chose a running mate as conservative as Cruz.

Getting the cart out WAY ahead of the horse here. Regardless, in his pledge speech Trump said he's a conservative, whatever he means by that.

My take is that Trump doesn't hold a conservative, liberal or any other coherent political philosophy. I think he believes in himself, in ways that are good and bad. He's looking at what he thinks are big problems and believes he can improve the situation, and he won't be guided by any overarching principles in his belief system but only by practical considerations.

You know, I've been giving serious consideration into getting into this race myself. Compared to me, Trump is low energy. I've been a life long conservative with six years of active duty military service and a life member of the NRA since 1972. I have a concealed carry permit and even carried when I didn't. The Hispanics love me, not to mention Bawanna and Jocko. If elected I promise to triple the economy, solve the problems in the Middle East, end famine and drought. Not only that but, I'll get the Russians to pay the bill. Don't ask me how I'll fulfill these promises, but I do have a pen and a phone.

Could someone please explain why if all of our jobs are going to Mexico are there so many Mexicans illegally crossing our boarder looking for work? A curious mind wants to know. Placing a tariff on foreign goods raises the price to the consumer of those goods. Could someone tell me how that helps the average American. How exactly does Trump plan to take Iraq's oil with a military that is at it's lowest state of readiness in the history of our country. If Iran and their allies object to this plan is Trump ready to start WWIII. Trump is very good at delivering the feel good message, but very short on details.

I would imagine the unemployment in Mexico is much higher than a few factories can fill. Hence the extremely low wages they can pay for said labor, add to that the drug cartels and police corruption and well, I guess I can't blame them for wanting to flee, but the Mexican government does quite well with it's own oil production, but I don't think that Mexico believes in welfare like we do, nor do they tolerate any immigrants to their country at all.

Aren't they all? But he has been talking with some politicians behind closed doors like Senator Jeff Sessions to help formulate a plan.
