I was watching a video about the California drought. They said that it's liable to continue for quite some time. Due to the conditions the Earth is in, smack dab in the middle of ice ages, when temperatures are at their highest. It has nothing to do with any of the Global Warming theories cooked up by Al Gore, but is just the way the planet goes through warming and cooling cycles. The Global Warming crap is designed to make us feel guilty about how we are "destroying" the earth and all that garbage. It's amazing how many have bought into this crap. A large Volcano eruption can do a lot more to disrupt the weather, than man can in many years.
The worrisome part was them talking about how much of our produce comes from California, and that without water, it could get mighty expensive for vegetables. Their was speculation that part of the reason for Jade Helm, was to have equipment in place to deal with possible upcoming food riots as food gets more expensive. Then they tried to sell you book on aquaponics, where you combine aquariums growing fish, covered with beds to grow vegetables. Not a bad idea really. And you get a pretty good return on your investment. But that's something you can check into on your own, there is a lot of info available for free, you don't need to buy a book on it. And perhaps we will find other sources for reasonably priced produce in the Islands or in South America or something.
Maybe produce production will move to the south central US. Another problem is as California dries up, the population will begin moving to other states that have water. Bringing their liberal policies and gangs with them. I've seen what they did in Colorado, and it wasn't pretty. I think they are a big reason that Colorado started down the gun-control path. What used to be a fairly conservative state is getting more liberal every year. Texas is another State they are eyeing. Right now they are pumping out the groundwater, from CA aquifers that took centuries to fill up, and will be pumped dry in a few years.
I just thought perhaps I'd warn people about what the drought may do to the prices of produce. Those that enjoy gardening might want to start growing bigger plots and canning or freezing the extra they grow, for those vegetables that can be processed those ways.
MAKE SURE YOU USE HEIRLOOM (NON-HYBRID) SEEDS, so you can get seeds from what you grow. Hybrids don't produce good seeds.
Not much can be done with lettuce and leafy vegetables, so you may want to make an indoor plot to grow lettuce if you want.
Or possibly make a greenhouse out of pvc plastic and some heavy duty translucent plastic film.
Maybe combine it with a fish tank to provide some protein. You can buy all sorts of game fish from fish farms to stock your tank with your favorite fish(es). Around here they sell various varieties of bass, crappie, some hybrids, bluegill/sunfish, and catfish. The plant roots are fertilized by the fish waste, help keep the water clean, and provide food for the fish. Although I imagine you have to feed the fish some kind of fish food too. Maybe throw a bucket of minnows in here and there. I'd just as soon grow things in the house, rather than advertise the fact that I may have food, in case things turn ugly.
There was also some stuff about food riots being a reason for declaring a National Emergency and letting Barry hang around a few more years. I don't know about all that, but it may be something to keep an eye on.
I'm not trying to alarm anyone, just to point out something that may become another problem in the near future, while we can do something about it, and not get caught off guard.
Strange that the left coast, with all the evil and godlessness, the porn, the so called music, the warped TV shows and Movies, that come from there, is not being blessed with rain. The Bible mentions it not raining on certain people during certain times.
