It was government policies that opened foreign factories and the us was encouraged to send jobs (NOT employees) there. Government doesn't OWN jobs and the economy but they sure control them via policies. I remember the end of WWII when US manufacturing was out producing the world with aircraft, ships, ammo and all the necessaries for the war. Manufacturing was considered a protected resource and stayed that way for a long time. Then some president decided we didn't need that stuff and announced a seachange shift in America from a manufacturing economy to a service economy. He acknowledged jobs would be lost but those could be retrained into service jobs. How'd that work out for manufacturing centers? Worked out like most smart folks thought it would.

So I don't say jobs and the economy belong to the government but I do can say with certainly they control it and decide who lives or dies in that world.

Excellent post. I remember being in Hong Kong for a few weeks in Feb. 1985 so I made an overnight trip into Canton, China. In the hotel where I stayed I met a guy with a thick southern accent. I asked him where he was from and he said Texas. He was there building factories and said it was the biggest thing going. They were constructing EVERYWHERE. I'm thinking it all started after Nixon made his China visit to build relations. Does anyone remember if that was the case?

Trump is willing, and VERY ABLE to turn everything Government on it's ear. I want that, as do VERY MANY other Americans. I do not expect him to articulate every policy position to the nth degree upfront. I expect a governance perspective.

Someone in the local paper today had a letter to the editor chastizing Trump and his followers as haters. Everytime I read something or hear something from a progressive that bashes Trump, the more I want to vote for him. Sometimes I am even swayed to vote Trump over my first choice of Cruz. Trump is right. His lack of political correctness smacks of reason, and he is looking out for the common man like me.

Trump, Cruz, Rubio, or whoever cannot save this nation. The only way this nation will turn around is if people once again embrace morality, common sense, and turn back to God or at least accept Godly values. Which most likely is not going to happen. People are constantly brainwashed by TV, Movies, Music, and the Media into accepting this new godless society where every perversion is fine.
