I watched a Trump town hall thing last night where he was asked if he would name Cruz as VP. He was thoughtful and said he really likes Cruz and will "find him a place" in the administration. Cruz is my #1 guy but will vote the ticket no matter what. Trump would be easier to vote for if he had Cruz as VP. Trump is a front man but lacks what Cruz has to offer.

Wouldn't it be cool if they both got together now before the first primary and just announced that they are running together as either Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump?

            Very well said

I think that the establishment republicans and the democrats are in a similar state of fear knowing that Cruz is also on top.
Truer works were never spoken. I've always liked Cruz for this very reason. Trump is too unpredictable. He might decide to become a Dem again at any time?

This is good debate about the 2 candidates. Trump though still will always have the "Can't be bought" argument on his side. It really is his Trump card.

I agree; however, when you say you" will vote the ticket no matter what", are you saying the "R" ticket? What if Trump or Cruz go "I" becuase the establisment "R"'s force them to do so (Cruz or Trump get the popular primary majority vote but the party names Bush or Rubio)?

I doubt Trump will become a democrat again. Once you see the light you can never go back. In any event, even if he were to go democrat again, he could not be any worse than hillary. Like I said in the first post, we got nothing to lose with Trump, but everything to gain.

Or as another option, go to the voters and say, "You vote for whichever of us you want to run for President in the Republican primaries, and the other pledges to be the running mate in the general election on the Republican ticket." Short circuit all the drama and focus on the real solution.

The one real advantage they would give up though if Cruz runs at the top of the ticket would be Trump's option to self fund the whole thing since he'd be limited in how much he could contribute to another candidate other than himself. For that reason alone it makes more sense for Trump to run at the top of the ticket. The main point though is to settle the question early upfront and move forward as a team, united. That is what Americans want.

The Republican/Democrat government establishment will vapor lock. It's gonna be awesome!

p.s., why is Jeb even still in this?

Tim, I don't know why Jeb is still in this. Maybe he thinks the establisment will rescue him. Although I don't care for Rubio, I think its time that everyone get out of the race except for Cruz, Trump, Carson and Rubio. I see Rubio getting the establishment votes of the ones that drop out. I see Trump, Cruz and Carson getting the Huckabee, Santorum and Fiorina supporters. I like Carson; but, I don't think Carson will last much longer and his votes will go to Trump and Cruz. Bottom line, it would great to see just Cruz/Trump line up and the rest of them out of it.

Carson will pick up the Huckabee and Santorum supporters, then be a non starter in New Hampshire. Fiorina people will split roughly first between Rubio and Trump, then some to Cruz.

The net of it will be Carson fading quickly, followed by Rubio going, "Pick me" like the weak younger tag-along, while Trump/Cruz surge.

Never lose sight of the literal fact that it takes literally hundreds of millions of dollars to run for President of The United States. And when all the other candidates are tapping their reserves to fight off contenders and stay in the race and get their message across to the electorate... at that time is when The Donald will spend ANOTHER $1 Billion dollars in the last 3 weeks before the election. Game over.

                                It's gonna be GREAT !!
