Correct me if I'm wrong. I am slowly getting the idea that Muggsy doesn't really care much for Trump. Probably just me.

The Pope bashing Trump about whether or not he's a Christian is pretty rich coming from a religion where expert ball handling skills, straight shooting and the ability to come from behind takes on a whole new meaning when a choir boy is involved and gets you promoted to Bishop..." The reason Trump supports the Obama-care mandate, is that it forces insurance companies to take people with pre-existing conditions. Obama care will be repealed. The problem is, we can't nail him down on the specifics of what Donald-care would be. All he talks about is negotiating lower prices from the drug companies, hospitals, and doctors. Nothing very specific. But, none of the other candidates have anything specific either, just repealing Obama-care.
He wants everyone to have healthcare that wants it, and pay less, (Nothing was mentioned about a fine for not signing up). How he intends to do that, he has no idea, or at least nothing he is sharing with us at the moment.
Healthcare that covers everyone has been an issue since the Hillary Care fiasco. IF someone is able to negotiate cheaper prices, I would say Trump would have the best shot. We do need some kind of healthcare that is available to anyone that wants it, yet is affordable. That's the trick. For one thing you cut expenses. Like how does my brothers pain Dr. get away with spending 5 or 10 minutes giving him a shot in the back, and charging his insurance up to $20,000 for a few dollars worth of steroids and 10 minutes of his time? How does a month's supply of pills that helps people on pain medicines poop cost almost $300 a bottle. How do they get away with charging $1,000 per pill for a drug that cures a fairly common but drug resistant disease? A person I counsel was on was on this drug for 90 days, and that would have been a $90,000 dollar cost to his insurance, except he was able to qualify for a very steep discount due to his poor financial condition.
ALL the candidates are talking repeal Obama-care, but no one has any specifics on what are they going to replace it with. Do we just go back to the past and hope your employer provides a group plan, and those that don't use the emergency room for a doctor and we all end up paying for it?
This issue has been argued about for over 20 years, and Obama care was the best they could come up with? Even then, Obama-care is more about controlling people than it is about healthcare. That's why it had to be passed without reading it. So they could sneak in all the "gotcha's".
If lower insurance costs, comes down to negotiating lower prices for medicines, hospital visits, and doctor care, then Trump is you expert negotiator. There are going to be a lot of cases where negotiation skills are as important if not more so, than whatever skill it takes to be a Senator, for some, all they learn is to take some cash, and vote for who just bought your vote I don't believe he's anywhere near as conservative as Cruz, but he's a lot more conservative than any one in the other party. Perhaps we need a more moderate candidate right now. Trump has a big ego, but he wants the best working for him. He will surround himself with the best people he can find for each particular job. If Cruz ended up being his running mate, then he would have a lot of input on who those would be. But it is still early. We have the South Carolina Primary coming up Saturday 2/20, then the Nevada Caucus on the 23rd, then Super Tuesday on March 1st. That will likely weed out all but the top 2 or 3. Things could look a lot different and March 1st. There is already talk of Bush pulling out after South Carolina if he does poorly. He has cut his staff's pay, let others go, and cancelled some events. It's about to get very interesting.Tom

One thing Trump has said he would do with health care is to remove the borders and boundaries that insurances can offer insurance. Now there is typically state boundaries that the insurance must abide by. Removing this boundary restriction would theoretically create more competition and lower prices.

The government should never be in a position to be able to force it's people to do anything, Tom, because the government might decide one day to force you to give up your guns and your freedoms. Trumps support for the individual mandate proves that he isn't a true conservative. His blame Bush tactics prove that he's a conservative in the image of Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. When someone reminded Trump that there are 1.2 Billion Catholics in the world he softened his position on the Pope. And for you Catholic bashers the number of priests who engaged in pedophilia is infinitely smaller than the number of non Catholics who have engaged in in the practice. Those without sin should cast the first stone.Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

I had heard some audio of Trump from a Town Hall Meeting with Anderson Cooper of CNN say he does support the health care mandate. I thought this was one of the main provisions that he wanted removed. Although, he wasn't 100% clear if this was a mandate for insurance companies to insure everyone or that everyone had to have insurance, both are bad, but the individual mandate is worse. Now they say 24 hours after making those comments he is backing off those claims. So, who knows?

Considering there are more non-Catholics in the world this statement is true. Pointing out the faults and flaws I a philosophy is NOT bashing but reality. I have a problem with the Pontiffs IMHO hypocrisy in that he bashes practices the Church practiced and in many ways still does. For all his faults Trump is still waking up folks to the way it is and SHOULD NOT be. If he is able to energize the Conservative Republican base to get off their duffs and vote, no mater who the candidate is he has done this country and the world a great service.Originally posted by muggsy View PostAnd for you Catholic bashers the number of priests who engaged in pedophilia is infinitely smaller than the number of non Catholics who have engaged in in the practice.
