Let's move past common sense and instead consider a well worn definition of insanity:

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Why would a sane individual, in light of the repeated similar and readily repeatable failures of the Establishment career politicians of both parties ... why would that individual consider casting that same vote again for those same reprobate characters, and THIS TIME expect a different result?

    The paradigm has shifted.

Donald J. Trump for President 2016

Muggsy, I became a Republican nearly overnight. It did take a few months of watching a incompetent president who failed to get our hostages out of Iran and had a failed hostage mission. Then out of the sunset rode in a cowboy from California who made me a Republican. Who promised he would make this country great again, would build a 600 ship Navy, an Air Force second to none, fund NASA and explore space, and made me proud to be an American.

Did the same thing. Democrat until Carter. But I have to say it was a different Democrat party than the present one. Changed to Republican with Ronald and have never looked back. It can happen.

Aye. It seems Trump may be the only conservative to figure out how to beat the dumbocrats at their own game...just sayin'.

There's some thread drift for us to consider.

Trump's words are like a verbal Rorschach inkblot. If you take them literally they're meaningless, but people hear what they want. "Common sense conservative" is an example.
              Rest in peace Muggsy

The people who are running now have never run before. Using your logic, Tim, maybe we should give socialism a try. After all we've tried having a representative republic for over two hundred years and it isn't working.

And you've stayed a conservative republican for all of these years. Thank you for proving my point.

And where was Trump looking for all of those years, at his bankbook? Did it take you forty years to come to that conclusion? I knew at twenty three that I was a conservative republican and not a socialist democrat. Most people figure who they are by the age of thirty. The rest are very slow learners at best.

Is Trump a conspiracy? I thought you didn't believe in conspiracy theories, Muggs.

There is little difference between socialism and the views of many in the democrat party. obama's policies are socialist policies.

I barely knew who I was at 23. I understand this is not the norm. Most people at 23 know everything worth knowing and have all the answers when the truth is they don't even understand the questions. I hope I never get so old and set in my ways that I am unable to change my mind or at least listen to different opinions than my own. It is people like this that have gotten us into the mess we are in. I was for some time a solid Cruz supporter. Not anymore. After some of the things he and his people recently have said and done - forget it. I'll give him credit for one thing. He sunk his own boat. Thankfully before being elected.
PS: I am not a Trump fan.

I'm severely disappointed in those things Cruz has said and done, but on issues he's still most aligned with me. His problem is that he's not the alpha male. Trump is the alpha male, and no one has a prayer of knocking him off his stump. Like him or not, he's who we seem to be stuck with. I love the way the libtards are scared to death of him. Maybe they don't agree that he's a closet liberal.

Someone previously asked about common sense....It's the ability to see through the smoke and understand what's really going on or to be able to listen to someone for a few minutes and figure out what kind of person they really are....Trump appeals to Republican voters who were able to vote in a Republican Senate and House and have watched as they bent over and allowed Obummer to totally have his way about everything and have not done a thing and the people are MAD so Trumps big talk about "It's going to be GREAT, It's going to be HUGE, we're going to do this and we're going to do that to make America GREAT again sounds good until you use some good old common sense and realize that he has never had a real plan on how to get any of these things done other than to talk big and get attention....Donald Trump does not want to be president, never has, never will but he has common sense enough to realize what he can do to mess up the Republicans in order to get done what has been his plan all along, get another Clinton elected president....

Trump will most likely get the nomination and will be neck and neck with Hillary then he will nut up and start acting really crazy and saying all kinds of foolish things which will result in his campaign falling apart and giving the keys to the White House to Hillary in a lay up victory....Wait. Watch and See....The script has already been written for this new reality show and in this case reality is going to stink and sink this country....Wise up folks, Trump isn't who you think he is....Get behind Cruz while there's still a chance to fix this Government and reallly make America Great again or at least give her half a chance.....
