My previous statement was not a support statement for Trump. It was a statement about what caused the rise of Trump and Cruz, and the Tea Party before that. It's the fact we have been lied to and deceived by way too many of our politicians. That is why the Republican elite dont like either Trump or Cruz.
Im not the judge for anyones moral character, that is for one higher than me to judge. What I would say is when someone who self promoted himself as the values candidate is caught doing something, and it is revealed through a recording of their own voice they were fooling around, confess what you did and dont tell those that elected you that you did nothing wrong because we all heard what you said. He's in denial. I can judge that. He has deceived himself and is a liar. Im not even saying he should resign unless he spent state money and granted favors for the benefits he was receiving. It comes down to admitting what you do and taking responsibility and not enough of that happens in either party. that goes for Trump, Cruz, Bush, Obama, Clinton, etc....
Another problem we have is not enough experienced leaders want to serve the country as president. Where are the Generals and successful business people? They have leadership experience our country needs. Those were the ones that founded this country. We did have George W. who had some business experience. But here are those who didn't, Obama, Clinton, George H.W. (although I thought HW was marginally OK.)
We need a leader next term, and we definitely don't need Hillery or Bernie.
