wow... and sadly only one of those makes any sense at all.
Im sure bulk purchases would be anything over 10 rounds, so everytime you go to the range for a day of shooting you're gonna get "reported"

Yeah, it's early. These are just placeholders for now. In most cases you'll see they don't even have the text of the bill put down yet; just the summary.

Agreed on just being placeholders. It will be interesting to see what all is added once the placeholders have drafts and as they are worked on in (sub)committees, etc. Seeing who writes what drafts and adds what language and finally seeing actual votes instead of all the rhetoric will be refreshing to me. This will be a true test for the last few blue dog Democrats and the liberal Republican party members as to where they stand.

As a side note, am I the only one (I probably am, I know) that thinks that Congress having extended discussions and debates on RKBA could potentially be a good thing for the future? First, to bog them down and waste their time from meddling in other issues. Second, to (hopefully) awaken the apathetic 150 million+ that have slumbered for too long. Third, to further show how much of a mockery the whole political process has all become? Fourth, to finally force the NRA to give the honorable Senator Reid a bad rating? I am sick of seeing him get a good grade btw, can you tell?

I know that many see impending doom ahead. It has been evidenced by the last few weeks' shopping sprees. I'm not sure all of this hysteria is necessarily a completely bad thing. Actually it may be just what is needed to save the Republic - or at least the smaller subset that is worth saving, anyway. Okay, I'll head to my bomb shelter now.

Man! You have a bomb shelter. Can I come over? I was thinking about digging a concrete enclosed pit in the back yard but I don't like digging to much anymore.

I figured if I didn't need it to hide from the feds I could always use it as a septic tank, actually close to the same purpose now that I ponder it some.

I just saw a Prepper episode the other night where some "rich" <maybe> guy here in Florida had a $150,000 bomb shelter/bunker built and trucked all the way from CALIFORNIA! They hired an out of state crew to bury the thing... HUGE... so that they wouldn't be thinking of running over to share it with him!

It would be nice to have a shelter... our house isn't very defensible, but after a recent Christmas party with most of the neighbors, I was pleasantly surprised at quite a few having or getting CWP's... wives, too! The discussion did get to neighborhood and home protection from the cockraoches wanting to "share" our stuff.

One thing is for sure, A LOT of people who weren't up in arms about (ahem) Arms, are now! I know at least 10 people who have never owned a gun and all have either bought one or are trying to buy one (Bass Pro was out of Ruger 10/22s today - My Father-in-Law wants one - has never owned a gun in his life, but after shooting mine, HAS to have one).

I Really think/hope they have done nothing more than mobilized a greater force to push back against their anti-gun legislation! If the pro-gun Politicians were right, they would just tack on ridiculous crap to every one of those anti bills, you know, CRAZY things like time limits on welfare, making welfare recipients work a government job make them drug free, etc etc.

Unfortunately, POTUS has line item veto power so those tack ons would last as long as a pair of Bawannas grips on EBay for $1.99. A t least the next four years and 13 days.

That said, I agree with you about more people being up in Arms and also having more conversations about guns, self-preservation, and what families and neighbors would do should the worst happen. Its happening all around. Also, think about the economic growth the weapons sector has made too Q4 2012 and Q1 2013! Maybe Obama has figured out a way to grow the economy. :screwy: That along with Nadlers Trillion Dollar US Treasury coin that will solve all our problems. :banghead:

Boehner has said that the House of Representatives will not take up any gun control bills until until all of the financial issues of our nation are resolved. Primarily the debt ceiling and spending cuts. The Senate has yet to pass a budget bill.

POTUS does not have a line item veto. It's all or nothing. He can't pick and choose, but he can NOT sign it and let it die, or send it back for changes.

                      It existed briefly under Clinton:

I don't think Obama will wait for congress to pass anything, he'll use EO power to put in place what he wants.

while rare, congress has the ability to stop an eo dead in its tracks. But will they have the stones in this case? Or the votes?

scotus can do it too. Same questions apply...

It's looking very much like a combination of EO and bills through congress.
Congress will take three months and Obummer isn't going to wait.
I personally think an Executive Order of some sort relating to Gun Control is nearly certain.
Maybe as early as February following Biden's Bullsh*t.

My way of thinking is he will quietly test the waters to see what
he can get away with before signing one.
