Already calling for gun control

Tonight while I was at dinner (alone, traveling for work) I read that Obama held a press conference calling for gun control in the aftermath of the Oregon college shooting. It gets my blood boiling. Several reasons.

We don't know anything about the shooter. Was he (assuming it's a he, I couldn't find any info) mentally defective in some way? I did see that he was only 20, if he used a handgun (again, don't know, couldn't find info) how did he come to have one in his possession? And just how is it MY FAULT that another nut job went off?

While Obama is making stuff up, he should add things to his list. Ban or license all the "shooter type" video games. It seems this latest batch of wacko kids are just that, kids. They learn society from impersonal video games that give them so many "lives" and also involve a reset button. How about, while he's at it, license all computers. Hey, computers are used for child porn, identity theft, and all sorts of nefarious activities every day. Make everyone register their computer with a federal database.

I just needed to rant. It seems that socialism doesn't look for the underlying causes of issues, they just want to "do something" that makes them feel good but is ultimately ineffective. All they have to do is just look around the world to see how well their ideas work in different countries.

I hope I'm wrong, but I see another crap storm on the horizon.

Cops (LOVE 'em!), in most situations get there after it happened and end up just writing the report.

Previous school shootings have actually had the opposite effect and made college campuses more open to CHL holders here in Oregon.

Hopefully they ignore the media and continue that trend making it easier for people to defend themselves.

Unfortunately, Umpqua was already a campus that allowed CHL holders to carry on campus and it did not help because the CHL holders who were carrying were not present where the shooter was.

In the end, being able to carry doesn't matter unless you actually take the responsibility to do it, and no one did in that area.

This whole event is tragic and I just hope that some of the people involved can learn from the experience.

Oh, so the story about him going around asking "are you a Christian?" and if you responded "yes", he would shoot you in the head. If you didn't answer or said "no", he would shoot you in the legs is probably true.

I think banning the media would be a great start to eliminating alot of this. They do it for the 1 minute of fame.

Don't post pics or names of the zero, no mention. Dispose of the zero in a hog lot with no more pomp or circumstance, maybe they'll think twice but I doubt it.

There's lots of zero's in the world, I work with some.

Just listened to a news conference given by the ATF which said they found 6 guns at the school, 7 at the killers house and 1 traced back to a gun shop that he traded for one found at the school.....All 14 weapons purchased LEGALLY so more laws aren't the answer........I wonder how many of the 4 killed and 52 wounded in Chicago last weekend were shot with legally purchased guns?.....Obummer failed to mention that last night during his rant for more gun control when he said that cities with strong gun laws have a much lower gun violence rate......Disgusting habitual lying turd who bends facts to fit his agenda....

My wife had a really prophetic statement last nite regarding gun control. She said, "Why don't they come up with a whole bunch of new gun control laws and try them out in Chicago first. Then is they can get them to work there, maybe we could consider them for elsewhere". That was when I realized how truly wise she is. And she carries a .38spl.
