I've put about 250 rounds of the Federal bulk stuff from Wal-Mart through my 22PLY (same one as TriggerMan's) without any problems. I tried both the 550-round box (which is usually unwaxed) and the 375-round "Champion" box which is waxed. Both fed and fired fine, and so did the CCI Mini-Mags.

You just need to stay away from subsonic stuff, rounds with squared off noses, and rounds with big fat noses with lots of wax on them like the CCI Blazer.

sure sitting around a few months would even have anything to do with a round getting hotter. Our military ammo is cased and stockpiled for years. I think with todays modern powders this would not be the case anymore, just my assumption. I wanna say ur sig grips were defective in some way or another.[/QUOTE]

Guess I wasn't clear enough about the "sitting around for months" comment. The recall was months earlier then when I bought but I had a concern that it was still avaialble on shelves. Absolutely ammo can be good for decades.

Federal in 9mm is usually a doollar or 2 less. Never had any problems with it or the WWB for that matter.

I would use either of those... whichever is cheapest. I have both in several calibers.

Good deals on the Federal Champion lately. Most recently, $19.99 for a 100 round box of 9 mm FMJ.

I have shot plenty of both, but there is a marked improvement in accuracy and clenliness with the WWB.

I'm probably the only person here with this problem, but my Boberg came with a big warning NOT to use Federal ammo from Wally World, cause it's not crimped tight, and the tongs pulling the bullet back out of the magazine, can dislodge the bullet. So if crimp matters to you, the Federal might be an issue. I used WWB with no problems at all.

I usually prefer to buy the WWB at WM just because I always end up with a round extra. Last WWB I bought was $1.00 less than the sticker price and it had 102 rounds in the box. The box before that had 101. I don't know who's counting or weighing those boxes, but I like 'em.

In my XD45 5" post, I shot six different versions of 230-gr ammo, including the ones mentioned so far plus Speer Gold Dots... regular and short barrel. I posted video stills of each, firing 5 shots, and the targets. I just wanted to see the differences:

I've ran wwb, federal, and remington through my cm9 for break in n never had a single problem. Thought the wwb was kinda dirty, but I guess just about any of the walmart stuff is kinda that way after more than 100 rounds. Found an empty brass in the wwb box... might have to start counting the rounds n see if I get lucky like kg!

When I use the WWB VP100, it's mainly for .45. I like the way the ammo is packaged and I can grab a handful for loading mags... don't have to pick up each round out of a partitioned plastic tray. I thought the rounds were pretty tightly packed, so I don't see how they could FIT extras!
