I put a can on my Seecamp but for some reason it didn't help much. I dunno...

Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

      • Well a little steel wool in the can or better yet muffler bedding, a piece of tubing with some holes and seal the end and you might be on to something. The concept is good, I like that. Damn boating accident.
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

            LOL, I missed that one.
            Guess I resemble that remark...

                  • I CC a Taurus 709 Slim, using a local made cross-breed type holster for IWB, or a SneakyPete OWB holster (looks like an I-pad case). When my K9 shows up, I expect it will become at least an equal CCW - it's why I am getting it.

                    • Since it has cooled off I've been carrying a Glock 17 more.

Warmer times of the year the PM9.

                        • Since the CW45 was sold, I most often carry my Boberg 9mm. Comparable to a PM9 I guess in size. It fits in my jeans front pocket or a remora holster.

                            • As a result of a combination of some new pistols coming to the market and a perpetual desire for another gun, or two, or three, or . . . we reevaluated our defensive gun inventory late last year. The wife & I spent a few days at the range comparing our ability to engage targets rapidly and accurately with both our old guns and several new guns. For us, it is critical that we are accurate at full combat speeds - there's no time for bullseye shooting in a self-defense situation. Interestingly, we were able to be both faster and more accurate with a couple of the new guns, so we decided to make major revisions to our inventory. Listed in order of frequency of carry, along with some comments about the decision.

                              His:
                              1. Springfield XD-S 45 ACP
Just in case it's not obvious, I've replaced my Kahr PM40 with the Springfield XD-S. Right out of the box, I was more easily accurate with the XD-S that I was with my long established EDC gun.

                              2. Sig 1911 Ultra
Of all the sub-compacts we've owned (≤ 3.5") the 3.25" Sig is the nicest shooting overall. The 1911 platform isn't for beginners or anyone not willing to practice, and it's heavier than a polygun (33.0 vs 26.2 for the XD-S), but the thin 1911's disappear under ordinary garments and are so nice to shoot.
                              3. S&W M&P 9c, 9mm
I'm not a fan of double-stacks for CCW because they tend to print, plus the thicker guns aren't as comfortable IWB. I liked shooting the Glock 26 a bit more than the M&P because the finger grooves helped with my purchase on the gun, however the blocky Glock isn't as comfortable so the M&P came out on top.

                              4. Sig P938 Extreme, 9mm
Short of carrying a 380, the little Sig P938 is a sweetheart to carry; especially after a few mods. A little work by a Sig specialist improved the trigger as converting it to single safety. A set of thin cocobolo grips perfected it. The P938 fills the hand like a Kahr K9, but it is soooo much thinner. In addition to a nice trigger, the little Sig has a full hand grip and excellent front strap checkering so it doesn't try to move around in my hand. Recoil is surprisingly mild - softer than a PM9. And the slide is easy to rack - a perfect CCW for the gal that's familiar with the 1911 platform.
                              5. Dan Wesson Guardian, 9mm
While I normally prefer a smaller/lighter CCW, the DW Guardian is only 1.5 oz heavier than the smaller Sig 1911, and 3 oz heavier than the double-stack M&P 9c. The coup de gras is shooting - shooting the Guardian with +P+ loads is like shooting the M&P with soft target loads. FYI: the DW ECO is similar but the thumb safety protrudes on the ECO and digs into the thumb knuckle. Ouch.
                              6. Ed Brown SFC, 45 ACP
I've had an itch for a Brown since forever, but could never make up my mind which model (Exec or Kobra), and black or SS. Finally across a gun shop that had several so could compare them side-by-side. The Special Forces Carry in SS won. My go-to gun anytime my itinerary includes undesirable neighborhoods.
                              7. Sig P238, 380 ACP
Coat pocket carry when the larger gun is buried under layers of cold-weather clothing. Or for those times when the dress code just doesn't leave enough room for a larger caliber gun.
                              Hers:
                              1. S&W M&P Shield, 9mm
                              2. Sig P220 Compact SAS, 45 ACP
                              3. S&W M&P 9c, 9mm
                              4. Kahr P380, 380 ACP
                              5. S&W 3913

                              FYI: the comparison test included:
                              • Dan Wesson ECO, 45 ACP
