For IWB in kydex, check out www.cooksholsters.com. Great holsters, priced right, fast turn-around.

Something else to consider is make sure you have a GOOD belt. It doesn't have to come from a holster maker, but get something good and strong. It will make a huge difference in the comfort.

I use a Bianchi thumb break holster and I love it. Recently I was introduced to a company called Braids Holsters. You can look them up on youtube.com and ebay.com. They look well made for about $35. My son bought one and loves it.

Cry once and stop all the buy/sell cycles.. Kahr being so thin, I only IWB:

AIWB = Mitch Rosen CLP... best in class (and cheap at $60 new / $40 used)
                  IWB = Milt Sparks VM2 - horsehide

I just bought a CW45 and am thinking of picking up the Mitch Rosen IWB holster that is on the Kahr Arms website. It has a clip rather than belt loops and I'm not sure if it will stay put.

I have a Remora that I'm using at the moment, but I prefer a leather holster as the Remora shifts on me. Have you folks been happy with the Rosen IWB holsters?

GOG, - I have bought a total of 4 Rosen CLP for various subcompacts, I have had various other holsters and it is the BEST straight drop holster to me. The steel clip used by Mitch Rosen is the stiffest that I have seen. Many leather holsters are made with THICK leather that they appear can last generations, but higher end rigs are all made with thinner leather to reduce bulk, Mitch Rosen is one of those use thinner leather. Btw, the mouth is reinforced with a steel plate for easy reholstering, same approach found in Milt Sparks holsters.

If you use a proper gun belt and is properly tighten, no holster should shift, clip or loop.... unless you wear your pants the way prisoners do... that drops and expose half of your underwear. One other exception is those holster that use a single clip that is offset to one side, they do shift ------ ask me how I know :-)

Cannot comment on Remora as I only use it for pocket carry.

Customer service is great too, the CLP that I bought new (from Dillon) came with an unusual softer steel clip, I told them after years of use, they took it back and replaced the clip with the typical uber strong clip in 1 week, free, of course.

All I am saying is , if you want a straight drop leather IWB holster, you should look no further. I have several posts on CLP , Clipper, do a search for more pix.

Thank you Wagon. I always carried a Commander size 1911 in a Milt Sparks Summer Special and the MR clip model seems close with the exception of the clip rather than loops.

I'll order one next week based on your experience and recommendation.

Beware that MS are all canted and ride higher for fast draw. On contrary, CLP sits low and is zero cants! To me it is perfect deep concealment, at the cost of speed of draw. My compacts are either in Milt Sparks or Alessi or Ritchie, I do want those weapons to ride higher and canted for faster draw.

Make sure that you know the different, they are designed for different purpose in mind. I use CLP for my subcompacts, compacts like CW size I go with VM2, Watch6 or COM3 from HBE etc...,

Hmm... More food for thought. I prefer a slight forward cant and full grip for speed of draw.

Of course, like most of us I have a drawer of "good idea at the time" holsters.

Welcome to the club, GOG! I have found that I enjoy holsters almost as much as I do guns. And I have found some of the nicest people in the holster business. I don't care for a lot of the really big, impersonal holster makers because they have yielded to the temptation to simplify their inventory by trying to make one holster model (sort of) fit many different guns. This is a compromise that I will not tolerate, so I prefer to deal with makers who do holsters to order to fit the specific gun and the specific customer's preferences. This often requires patience to wait weeks for order fulfillment, but it is worth it.

I also like some cant on any holster that I wear behind my hip. For small pistols, I have come to prefer AIWB carry because of the easy access whether sitting or standing. The gun needs to be short enough that the muzzle won't jam against the leg when seated. Any of the subcompact semis such as the CM9 or any of the little 380s, and the J-frame snubby revolvers work well there.
                                Very interesting...
