Belt Question

Hello to all. I'm getting ready to conceal carry next year. There are so many choices for belts. I'm looking for some guidance from the experts on this forum. As always, thanks in advance for any thoughts and opinions.

I bought a double-layer, Kydex lined belt but found it was too thick for everyday. I really like this Daltech Force instead. Easy to find. A couple of nearby shops carry them. And not too expensive. http://www.daltechforce.com/belts/cr...lack-or-brown/

I have two (one black and one brown) kydex reinforced belts from Blade tech and they work well for me, even though women's jeans etc. have narrower loops. By the way the belts blade tech sells are actually made by Looper. It did take a little time to break in
but I'm happy with them now. When breaking them in I wear them around the house one notch looser than I normally wear. I've had a couple of back surgeries with lots of metal and initially the belt bothered me, but the break in worked.

Bullhide belts is another good source. I have a double thick nylon belt without a buckle
that is the most comfortable belt I own. I use it when I wear my top untucked.

Finally, I have a shark skin belt from Wilson Combat (a gift) which is pricey but comfortable.

I'm a cheap SOB, and can't afford to spend too much on a belt, so I got a Dickies brand work belt at Walmart for under $20. Its good thick leather, and works fine with any of the holsters I've hung from it. I got the smaller one, to make sure it went through the belt loops on all my pants. It's 1 1/4" wide, and between 1/16 and 1/8" thick. When I replace it, I'll probably go with the 1 1/2 inch version, just to be a little more comfortable. I figured if it was tough enough to hang tool bags on, a holster should be no problem. It's lasted at least a year, maybe 2, with out any problems at all, and worn almost daily. Although seldom with a holster, or tool bag.

I have some very nice leather gun belts that were fairly expensive, had long lead times, etc. My most comfortable gun belt was also the least expensive and was available immediately. $30 Wilderness Frequent Flyer. It's also the perfect belt for hiking (light weight), and hunting (no scent, ultra quiet). I liked it so well I bought an extra just to keep in the trunk of my car. Just a thought.

This is something that I really need to do too. I have two nice new stiff 1 1/2" black and brown leather belts that I use for IDPA. They are working now because they are still relatively new. However, I do need to invest in a good carry belt. However, for IWB daily carry, I don't feel that the belt matters any more than the quality of the pant waist fit. If the pants are fitting right for IWB carry, the belt is just there for additional support. OWB carry is entirely another matter. JMO. I'll check out that Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt...looks like a good price. Thanks.

Belt Question

I like my crossbreed. It's nice and thick but not heavy. It is probably middle of the road. I also have a Blackhawks nylon/kydex gun belt but it's so thick some of my holsters don't fit.

I've used cheap thin leather belts and currently use a nice thick stiff Rigid Holsters belt. Perhaps I'm simply dumb, but regular off-the-shelf discount store belts work just as well as an expensive "gun belt" for me, up to a point. Too thin and too supple, and it's no good. But some holster clips don't fit well around my heavy gun belt either. So I say just find a good stiff belt at a price you like, and go with it.
