      How do you like that Citadel? They are relatively inexpensive but mine runs like a champ.
      The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

          My High Standard is made in the PI by Armscorp and has been 100% right out of the box.
          The pistols made in the Philippines are a great value in a basic gun IMO.

            So I've had this thread on my list to poke thru for awhile. Finally got around to it. As a 1911 watcher and non-owner, all the picts are really cool. I don't even own a .45, but these make me want to go shopping.

            As far as this thread though, if I won the lottery tomorrow and could offer a ridiculous sum of money to convince somebody here to sell something I found cool. These two would be a toss up for me.

            gb6491's Essex frame...something about the wear on it and his claim about how it shoots just has me wanting to take possession of it.

            jeepster's pseudo-1911 green PARA LDA. I've lusted for that gun ever since he posted the first picture of it.

            No flies on anyone else's 1911s, just wanted to say cool thread and put my 2 cents in for the ones I'd take if I were snooty rich and had a cool $10000 to offer for one of them.

                          Yeah he really is a genuine tough guy. Decorated in Korea and the so called "toughs" in our neighborhood on the South side of Chicago all were scared of him. I am very fortunate to have been raised right by him and my Mom. Still not an ounce of quit in him.
