Our local wal mart here has not had any 380 ammo in over 2+ years. Mine both 380;'s have taken a back seat also, as I wonj't pay that rip off price for that 380 ammo. I don't carry it anyways, so I wish now that I didn't own my lcp or P380. Bolh nice guns, both "sitting".

New Kahr CW9 = RECOIL MONSTER!?!?!?

I really lucked out when I traded the P3AT. Actually got trade value for the same amount as I paid for it 5 years earlier ... but the trade was in the height of the massive run towards .380 pocket pistols. I don't miss the .380 round one bit, and if the CM9 proves to be a reality it will carry (my style) every bit as well as the P3AT.________________________________________

Just one question from what Wynn calls the Kahr talk masochist: 9mm why, and recoil monster? I'm just plain baffled there.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Didn't give my P3AT away but whoever bought it got a good deal (pocket clip, 75 rounds 380, uncle mikes pocket holster). Sold it through my LGS in about 3 days. This was after I got the CW9 from them. Knew it would sell but didn't think it would go for the price or so quick.
CM9? You mean I've got to have another small 9 mm to go with my CW9?On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.

If i was only allowed 2 guns (which I am) I would choose the sp 101 357 and the CW9. I searched to find 2 of the most excellent combination of revolver and semi auto's and found it. I will keep both of these forever! I just shot the Kahr for the first time today and I must say it was FLAWLESS!!! Not one problem what so ever!!! The recoil is so mild that i wont need an inner tube or houge jr. grips cover. It is now broke in and cleaned up for the next day of shooting. I got some non chlorinated brake cleaner and it works great. My bore snake fits both guns and they are sparkling clean. I manage to put some in the 10 from 50 ft. but will need some work for sure. All the groups were in the 5" range anyway which is good enough for a CCW weapon. It has now earned it's place on my hip and I will be proud to carry it knowing that it will function without a clitch.

3 actually, Jocko. My wife of 28 years!Originally posted by jocko View Posttconroy: nice report, great gun, u picked two winners to.
Also thanks for your info in the tech section. This thing can be stripped down in less than 30 seconds!!! Easier to clean than my 357. The brake cleaner is a must too. $2.69 a can and will last for months.

Another SP 101/CW9 convert!
Hey, part of the "fun" of a revolver is stripping it down to componet pieces, cleaning, oiling and reassembly.
BTW - napa had the 3m brake cleaner on sale last week(?) for $2.00 a can. Jumped on it and now have 5 cans of the stuff. On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.

Dang! It's a good thing he didn't try a PM9, if the CW9 kicks so much!
A few days ago I checked out the ammo at our local Walmart and they had everything, including about 5 kinds of .380 FMJ. I think they even had Federal .380 and it was priced only a buck more than the .45 ACP. I look every time I go to one of those stores just to see how the ammo supply is doing. I don't need any, but I keep looking.

you mean strip it down like this
?

I just had to do it after firing the first few rounds in the back yard to function test. Mine was a never fired, safe queen, 1995 model owned by a "collector". I bought it last fall and put the first round through the gun since it left the factory. I knew, since it was 15 years old, it would have a good amount of dried lube laquer inside the guts... and it did. It's all nice and slicky inside now

Exactly!
Hey, mine's the same year #.
Did you make that picture so that you could put it back together again correctly? If you haven't done so, just wait till you take the trigger group apart. Step by step photos are almost a must have.
BTW - the Ruger site shows how to clean a revolver. They don't take it down to the component pieces. If I'm really lazy, I just clean the barrel, chambers and give the rest a good scrub. Stainless Steel, the lazy man's gun material of choice.

I've only stripped it down to that level a couple of times, the first being to get out the 15 year old dried gunk before I really started shooting it, and the other just because I wanted to. I didn't have a need to detail strip the trigger group, but would if it were absolutely necessary. The first time was a bear to get the trigger group out, since it was thotoughly glued in my grease shellac .. laquer... whatever you want to call the nice thin, brown layer of glue. It's such a nice thing to not have to remove side plates and fear dropping out a bunch of loose tiny parts to do a detail cleaning on a revo.________________________________________

Know what you mean about the side plates!
I don't strip mine down to the individual groups all of the time but do it at least every two or three trips to the range. Went down to the groups when I first got it from the evil pawn shop as I did not know what kind of care that the gun recieved from its former owner. It was pretty clean but there was a bit of gunk that came out after a good spray with the brake cleaner.
Took the trigger group all the way down after the first outing, just to see if I could do it and inspect the parts. Wasn't real hard but I don't want to do it on a regular basis. On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.

I usually detail strip a revolver when I first get it, clean it really well, and don't strip it again unless I have a problem. I don't have problems with my round guns, blue or stainless.Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.
