I always do give mags a good slap when full to make sure they are seated.

Only got through 100 rounds today cause son was with and he wanted to leave.

100 rounds all WWB not even caring where aim was ONLY concerned with my 2 thumbs (changed mind and shot all 2 hand right handed).

    Had 6 premature lock backs

Again first 4 mags were flawless then they came in at random places but no more than 1 per mag.

Clean and polish up and lube up on the way, but I still think I will call and talk with Kahr Monday cause I can guarantee that my thumbs were no where near the slide lock through the session... well except to chamber after the lock and of course on mag change....

      SWEET Range Session !

      OK all....

      Another range session today.
After the last one, I got some Flitz and small wool buffing wheels for my dremel.
I polished up the feed ramp well and really went after all the cracks and crevices on the slide stop pin.

And off to the range today.

50 rounds American Eagle FMJ... ZERO issues
Ok maybe it was the Federal Champoin FMJ that it didn't like....
      Nope..
50 rounds Federal Champion FMJ... ZERO issues
      back to American Eagle
50 rounds of American Eagle FMJ... ZERO issues
OK lets try it dirty with JHP...
4 mags (24 rounds) Remington 88 grain JHP... ZERO issues.
gettin real dirty now lets try with a carry ammo
      2 mags (I know only 12 rounds but I only bought 20)
Federal Hydra Shock 90 Grain labeled "Low Recoil" and had I know that would not have bought it... low recoil generally means weak powder load.
Well 12 rounds of that... ZERO issues

      I am way excited!

So I had some issues with the first 300 rounds but today sent 186 rounds down range without any issues what so ever !!! That makes 486 total rounds through her by me and 201 rounds since the last premature slide lock!

      I believe I got a good P380 !!!

She was so filthy that I could not get all of the barrel feed ramps and slide stop bits cleaned completely with brake cleaner and gunzilla...

Whip out the drelem / flitz and she shines like a mirror again...

Clean up.. re lube with gunzilla and she is ready for service...

Gonna have to add the flitz cleanup to my cleaning... only takes an extra minute and things really shine...

Planning another range session Thursday and of course will post here...

            Saving for 380 ammo and a CM9.....

Just thought I'd chime in here. I bought a P380 off another forum member who said it was like new, and I believe him. After a thorough cleaning, lubrication according to charts, and hand racking of only about 100 times, I went to the range with an assortment of new, old, and questionable 380 ball and some new Corbon 90 grain hollowpoint ammo for a try.
Ball first, and after 5 mags, the slide stayed open about 1/8 inch. I pulled to check the round and found it was one of the "questionable" ones. Second try went bang.
Twice I know I bumped the slide stop (this thing is really small) so i don't count them.
Shot 100 rounds, with just the aforemention issues, so I'm happy.
Cleaned the feed ramp, and added some lube to the rails, then shot the other 100 ball I brought. Again a couple premature lock backs, but I think two were me and the other one I'm not sure of, esxcept when I checked the round it was an old JSP my father had given to me that is at least as old as I am.
Ended the day with 12 rounds of CorBon, and had zero issues.
Next week I'll get some more CB and if I can shoot 40 rounds in a clean gun without issue, It will be rotated in with my PM9 and P45.
By the way, my serial number is RA, so it's not a recently manufactured one.
Just wanted to pass along a sucess story for a change.

                    Best Range Session YET

                    OK Guys...
Back from another FANTASTIC range session with my P380...

For those who don't like to read... sent 289 rounds down range with various ammo with NO issues what so ever!
That makes 490 rounds since last issue (premature slide lock)...

                    Here we go...

                    Abbreviations...

ML - Manual Load first round (NOT by using slide lock to load)
                    NI - NO Issues...

Cycled through my 3 mags that I have 2 each 6 and 1 7 rounder for the whole session so that I could potentially identify a bad mag. NI even with the 7 rounder. I was going to load some snap caps here and there to test manual loading, but forgot them at home. Decided that I would try ML several times on first round to test it that way. Set the target at 7 yards and left it there the whole time.

American Eagle FMJ - 50 rounds - NI
ML the first 3 mags in a row - NI
Remington UMC FMJ - 50 rounds - NI
ML the first 3 mags in a row - NI
PMC FMJ (Ooooo non US ammo) - 50 rounds - NI
                    Forgot to ML... doh
Federal Champion FMJ - 50 rounds - NI
                    Forgot to ML again
Got to be getting dirty now....
8 rounds of the last of the Federal HydraShock (since I don't want to carry reduced recoil ammo) loaded 4 per 6 round mag.. NI (again forgot to ML)
Federal Champion FMJ - 50 rounds - NI
                    Forgot to ML again
Remington 88 Grain HP - 19 rounds (1 each mag full) - NI
Seeing a trend here with forgetting to ML... woops

SURELY this is a "tad" more dirty now than all that horrible 'pocket lint' that we are warned about with front pocket carry with these guys......
Surely it will fail in the most catastrophic way now.. right...
                    Especially with carry ammo...

Gun is filthy as h3ll now with 277 rounds down her....
Took a minute to sweep brass and let her cool down a bit.

Cor Bon DPX - 6 rounds - ML on first round and all 6 were..... NI

Cor Bon 90 Grain HP - 6 rounds - ML on first round and well getting boring now... - NI

                    So.....
I have to say she is broken in and I have total confidence in her.
She is loosened up to the point that I can pop the take down pin with a quick rap against my knuckle and as such no tools needed now for take down.

I took her down to wipe off with a Breakfree range wipe before putting back in my range bag.

                    Here is the full target.
Oh ... and surely it can't be accurate when it is this dirty....
Last 6 rounds saved for the #6 on the target...

                    now THAT was FUN !!!

That's good to hear! An exemplary range report on a P380, shot 'til it was filthy and the barrel was glowing red! 7 round mag was flawless. And that target for the last 6 is fantastic!

Do you want to sell it?
                        Very interesting...

I don't even think I would take full MSRP for it !
Next step XS big dot and I am good.
I really have come to not like the factory sights cause when the top metal horizontal line of the sights is flat the dot gets into the I and it looks like one blob to me....
Oh well, I planned on XS from day 1 anyway. Just not sure I dare do that myself or send it off....

I have the pusher that I can shim up that can handle XDM sights so one would 'think' that it would handle the P380.

I didn't even have to freeze the XDM sights to get them off with the pusher I have, so unless the sight blade breaks off (pusher pushes on the blade vs the dovetail) I think I would be good.

Thinking oil up the sight for a couple of days... freeze the slide overnight and push them out.

289 rounds in one session with zero issues is impressive to say the least. You should buy a few lotto tickets for the weekend.

At what point do you think you'll be able to 'trust' it enough to carry it for purposes of self-defense?
