  • Too much oil?

Ok so I didn't follow the oiling guidelines because I was in such a rush to shoot today but, I did clean it.

The first 30 rounds were simply amazing and I loved it. My groupings at 7 yards were 3 inches and then the trigger stopped working. Its almost like it wasn't catching. It would fire 1 out of 5 pulls or so.

When I broke it down I noticed that there was alot of oil around the trigger and such. Could that be my problem, too much oil?

If that is all the problem is I'll be ecstatic. I liked this cm9 so much that while it was working I was already thinking of buying a cw9.

    Thanks, J

Looks like CM9 the way I read it.

Is the trigger not resetting? Is that what it feels like? Just nothing when you pull the trigger?

CM9 and it wouldn't reset at all. If I just kept pulling it, it would fire 1 out of 4 or 5 times.

Excess oil wouldn't cause your trigger to malfunction. You have another problem. Was it a trigger problem or light strikes?
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

If you have cleaned it from the range, what does it do now? Then do the proper prep and lube chart and dry fire it a bit.

The trigger for sure it felt like it wasn't "catching" on something.

After I cleaned it the trigger seems to work fine.

If it gets sent back to Kahr how do I ship it? Never had a new firearm that needed to be sent back.

Well I called Kahr cs today and spoke with Rich. He was extremely helpful and told me that over oiling shouldn't be an issue. He explained that he had never answered a call with this problem so he sent me a shipping label and said that I would have it back in 1-3 weeks.

                  +1 for Kahr cs

Do keep us posted, we all learn from these trips. They will take care of it without question. Sad to have to send you shiny new gun back but it happens once in a while.

Ok they received the gun on 2/7 in the morning and I'm getting a lil anxious so I tried to reach them today.

After being on hold for 45 minutes I finally just left a message. I'm getting a little discouraged now.

A lot less frustration to send them an email asking for an update, ETA and to be notified with a tracking number so you can be there when it is delivered. They usually reply within 24 hours.
                        Very interesting...

Welcome to the club. Kahr has quite a bit of their quality products back on warranty right now. I imagine they're pretty busy to get back with you.

That being said, You can email Jay at jay.dandrea@kahr.com and include your return authorization number and he will get back to you.

I'm sorry, but you have absolutely no basis by which to formulate any sort of valid opinion regarding that. You'd have to have intimate knowledge of production numbers - number of units made - and intimate knowledge of the number of units returned for warranty or other service. You have neither, so instead of inflicting your emotion based rhetoric to the folks here, maybe it would be better to stick to the facts and say something factual.

Really? No basis what so ever? How about just the number of post here in this forum about returned products? Maybe we could start a poll and see who's had to send their pistols back? Would that be enough evidence for you? How about the fact this guy's pistol has been there for 3 weeks? You're right though. Maybe there's only 5 pistols back in their shop and only one guy working part time to fix them. Right.
