The number of pistols sold, versus the number of users here, versus the total overall service figures are totally unknown to me, you, or most anyone except the production and warranty departments at Kahr.

I stand on both things I said - you have no basis, and are spewing emotion filled rhetoric.

And you know this, how? So you had a problem with your gun. Doesn't make you an authority on the number or percentage of guns currently under repair at the mother ship. You're being a whiner. Grow up! And shut up!
      Very interesting...

A lot of frustrated owners read too much into the discussions on this forum and think there are huge numbers of guns going back to the mothership, when in reality you're only seeing fractional numbers going back for service.

I can fully appreciate what it feels like to send your brand new baby back home for attention. I bought a Ruger SR22 3 weeks ago, shot it twice and had issues with it. Back it went. It's still there as we speak. Upset? Yeah a little. Anxious to get it back? Damned right. Disillusioned with Ruger? No, I've read a bunch about guns going back but also read a bunch about outstanding experiences with the gun.

I was fortunate with my CM9. It ran great out of the box. I've read about some that didn't and had to go back. If you look at the boom in gun sales and see the percentage that have issues, all models, all manufacturers, it's really very low.

On Kahrtalk we tend to get a little defensive about folks who put the brand down because we've seen how great they are and how well they correct their issues. It's ok to be upset about your gun going back. I would be too, but it's not ok to paint Kahr with a huge "bad brand" brush.

Kahr will make it right and ultimately you'll get a gun you can stake your life on. Be patient and read lots, Help others when you can and the favor will be returned. I'm sorry you're having problems but this too shall pass.

Kabookie has an axe to grind probably because he has a problem that has not been resolved. I would like to know why he takes the position he does or if he can give a synopsis of his Kahr problem(s) or thread link to fill us in.

Kabookie, obviously we are fans of Kahr here and most here want you to be too. What happened to turn you off?

You make the lights work and I'll make you a Captain! I had one once where the lights worked but it was sporadic and didn't always work.

John is thinking of having some upgrades on a few things like moving avatars and such I think after 65,000 post so maybe then I'll get blinky lights and stuff provided of course there's a computer person around to tell me how to do it.

What's a type 3 malfunction? Is that when you get your willy jammed during pocket carry? I think the fires are out, the retardant worked, all clear........

Whoa settle down sunshine pumpers. Who said anything about a percentage? I said they have quite a bit of their guns back. Not 5%, 10% or 50% of their production. No. Just read through this forum and there's quite a few post of people who have recently sent their Kahr back. That and 3 weeks to turn around warranty speaks volumes. Factual? You betcha.

:4:# of weapons produced and in current use x rounds fired : by malfunctions =%!!!! I'm sure the failure rate will be 0.00 something %. subtract user error and go even further behind decimal. Subtract improper maintainance on top of that and it's almost non existant. Lol

A classic case of over lubrimacation if I ever saw one. Had to wring the oil out of it.

is it unfortunate that reading on this forum makes it seem like these guns really aren't reliable enough to stake your life on right out of the box? yes

do we wish all guns could be reliable like our trusty glocks? yes

I spoke to a guy once about reading all the stuff about the malfunctions and problems with the kahrs online, and while I too have a cm9 out for service before even firing, he had a point (maybe).....

he said, "just think of all the people that don't use forums." (good point)

i would assume a lot of people who have perfectly working guns, or any product for that matter, don't bother with the forums because a lot of people go to forums for help, USUALLY not to brag..... which i suppose is the general rule behind any online reviews as well. Most people are no stranger to complaining, but won't go out of there way to tell someones boss they did a good job....

as "sad" as i am about my situation, it is what it is and i hope i get a reliable gun back...
CM9 purchased 3/2012: 250 rounds PMC, 20 rounds Federal HST, 0 malfunctions so far :33:
