I know a number of you have mentioned making grips from bicycle innertubes. I decided to give it a try and share the results. It was remarkably easy and I'm quite pleased with the results.
I used a $6 Schwinn innertube, for a 26-inch tire, 1.75-2.125 width. It took all of about 2 minutes to cut a cross-section of innertube and stretch it over the grip. Amazingly, I got it right the first time. It fits very snugly and really softens the harsh texturing of the CM9's grip.
