  • How Many from Glock's to Kahr's

How many of you have owned or still own Glock's that now own Kahr's?

How do the Kahr's compare to Glock's.

I like my new PM9, and now I am wondering why do I want to keep my Glock. The PM9 is so much easier to conceal, it is accurate and reliability seems good so far.

I may trade my Glock off for another Kahr, for sure in 9mm I want to stay with one caliber, or at the most two, I do have a Ruger LCP so .380 stays.

I am not Glock bashing, my Glock has been flawless, my two sons have several, one is a police officer and has access to many guns at LEO pricing and prefers Glocks. I just like the way Kahr has put together such a nice small powerful 9mm.

I have a Glock 26, PM9, & the P380. The Glock is my truck gun, but the PM9 is my everyday carry. It is much smaller than the 26. They are all nice guns. The P380 mostly just gets fondled it is so cute!

Sell a gun? Those just aren't words in my vocabulary. I'll be keeping my Glock 17 and PM9. If one gun is good, two guns is better. Can I get a hallelujah from the congregation?

My world has room for both. I've been an avid Glock fan since the Gen 1 17's.
I can't see ever NOT owning a Glock 9mm or two at the very least.

My G26 is still a very easily concealable belt gun and the level of confidence
and absolute reliability of it gives me the warm fuzzies every time I choose
to carry it. For those of us in Florida that have lived through both hurricane
Andrew and then later the 3-banger 2004 hurricane season in central Florida,
we've come about as close to SHTF scenario's as I ever hope to in my
lifetime. There's absolutely no doubt whatsoever in that kind of circumstance
I would be carrying one if not two Glocks. Having said all that, I've very
recently invested heavily in Kahrs in a short period of time. In my opinion,
what Kahr brings to the table, is compactness, slimness and extreme
        concealability and outstanding build quality.

There's simply no other gun mfgr out there that has managed to get 9mm
let alone .40 or .45 into such a small and slim package. However, it comes at
a price, first of all the premium of the initial capital investment and then
in dealing with the fact that they can be temperamental until properly
broken in. This is primarily due to the fact that the whole action of the pistol
is miniaturized and crammed into a tiny space. There just isn't the room for
the tolerances that allow a pistol like a Glock to be so darn reliable that it
can be shot caked with mud, etc. Kahrs are not built for torture tests and
definitely need to be shot to a point of reliability (and sometimes tweaked)
Some people don't have the right disposition to deal with that
and probably ought to stick with Glocks, XD's and other brands that have
a higher percentage of "out-of-box" reliability.

But if you can push through that as many seem to have done, they are
about the finest deep concealment pistol out there and for EDC they are more
comfortable to carry than my Glocks, allow me to carry in more situations
than I can with my Glocks and gives me a much higher profile of
"Always Carrying" (at least when I have clothes on that I was able
        to with my Glocks.

Me personally, I would hang onto the Glock, save up and buy another
        Kahr anyway!

Heres' my hallelujah! Selling guns don't cut it with me neither.

I have used a P40 for about 9 years, bought a G23 a year ago.The P40 seems to have a little more snap in the recoil than the G23.My wife has shot both and she likes the G23 better than the P40 due to the recoil. The P40 is much easier to carry than the G23.I have good grouping (2")at 7 yards with the Kahr.It is not a weapon that I will ever get rid of.
Looking to buy a G22 RTF Gen4 when they are more avaliable. Right now they are hard to find.
I really like to shoot both weapons every chance I get. In fact I will be going to the range in the morning to get a little practice in.

I do not like to get rid of guns either. There is room in my world also for both my Kahrs and my glock. As a matter of fact I have a few other different brands too. I plan on getting possible or 3 more. I have always just wanted a Sig, I really like the EAA Witness......alot! and who knows I have been lusting over the FN-X9.

Why give up a gun just to get a new one? I don't replace I just cut down the rotation some.

I had a G-19 for about 6 months. I bought it as a carry piece but it was not that much smaller than my Taurus (Beretta copy). When I got the PM-9 I sold the Glock. I really didn't like the trigger on the Glock. Since I had the Taurus for so many years I just shot it better than the Glock. I guess in a full size piece I really prefer the traditional DA/SA trigger. I've since replaced the Taurus with a Sig, no Glocks in the collection right now.

I think everyone should own a glock. Don't sell it, I know I will never sell another gun. Just save up and buy more KAHR'S!
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.

I have several Kahrs, no Glocks however...never got use to the grip angle on them. I am not saying there not great guns, just not for me. If I am not carring or shooting my Kahrs I am shooting my 1911's in the Kimber line up namely my Ultra Raptor or Pro Raptor. i also have a couple of XD's...I guess you could call me an equal opportunity offender...

So many great guns....and so little time.

I think that whatever gun you will carry the most, and the most comfortable to carry, should be the one that you choose. Whether glock or Kahr or whatever. I had a G19 and a G27. I sold the 27 and bought a Kahr Cw40 for Off-duty carry. I found that the Glock was just too big and bulky and heavy. I know alot of other LEO's that prefer the glocks for Off-duty but I would much rather have a Kahr. I like shooting it better than the glocks anyway. Oh...and also Glock basically gives LEO's a huuuuge discount that beats the Kahrs pricing...still I have a Kahr!! Just my personal opinion but I'm happy with what I have decided.

i have a .40 glock22 as my full size carry & its a great pistol but i think my new pm9 is going to make the dust collect on the glock as a carry. still a fun shooter so I am looking into getting an extended, ported 9mm barrel for it and maybe one of those 30rd mags for fun @ the range. i've been looking into adding a tact. light/laser combo and getting a drawer safe for my nightstand and putting the glock there.

I'm with you on the Kahr trigger, BigCube. I like it a lot more than my Glock. The longer uptake, if that's the proper term, makes me a lot more accurate.

I've plenty of opportunities to shoot Glocks because my son is a fanatic. For me, the grip is too thick, the grip angle makes them naturally point high, and I don't like the trigger. Also compared to Kahrs and some other pistols, they're too large. I haven't owned one nor have I ever wanted to do so.

I agree with all this and might add they just sorely lack the asthetic look cool ingredients. Just lack style. I still have room for them in my reportoire of toys and when sorely needed I'd not hesitate to grab one, maybe ever before my Kahrs but the Kahr will always be near where the Glock might not be so that pretty much says it all.
