If you move to Kentucky and still have all of your teeth you're gonna have to pull some. Well, at least I think so after seeing "Call of the Wild Man" on animal planet. That's the dude that catches animals with his bare hands.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

I left central Indiana in 1979 for Texas.

Yep its hot, Nope I'll never leave.
I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
      "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?

What opinions are out there on which state would be a preferred state to live in and a reason why?
North Carolina is a great place to live. You've got the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Some of the worlds best fishing off the outer banks and the winters are pretty mild. Moved here from Ohio in 85 and haven't regretted it one bit.

Well, for one thing, even the Governor carrys...

No state income tax, and the crazy folks tend to hang out in Austin, for the most part...
As an Aircraft Mechanic it's also great that the best jobs are here too.
Nice folks, independant folks around here. Texas was once our own country, the founders decide to help the rest of the US out and join up.
That one usally starts the flames, BBQ anyone.
And we still got space if you need it. Its farther to El Paso TX from my house than it is to where ever your house is in Indiana.
            But now I'm just bragging.

They are adding buildings and expanding opps at the GM truck plant in Arlington, don't know the timeline on that.
They are also building a rail center for locomotive building and overhaul near the airport, north of town that may fit your experiance.

                  Good luck on a search.

Looked it up and sounds like cost of living about 9% per cent below national average. Probably depends where you live etc. Can't say much about the job situation.. I work in health care and are a ton of jobs out there for what I do.. Planedude is starting to make Texas sound pretty attractive though

For those who have Kindle readers, a historical fiction, treasure hunt book is available free for a few days only. I enjoyed it very much and the price is free.

We now interrupt the weighty matters of state with the following message . . .

Hey Mr. OldLincoln! Thanks for the heads up!

Not only have the first few pages of this book already captured my attention, but the Kindle application on my ThinkPad needed updating and got into an endless loop during the process that was only broken by reinstalling.

We are back to "normal" now and looking forward to this story which already looks like a great read.

                        Thanks again!
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

                        • Glad you got it working! I have many more free books than I will likely read through a site called eReader-IQ that is a terrific search engine and presentation interface. Of course I focus on the Free Books but they filter them all.

                              • Return Trip to Storm Lake

Everyone knows my Barth Six Barrels nickname.
And that I'm primarily a Storm Lake guy when in comes to near match
aftermarket barrels (I have four for my Glock G27).
Storm Lake seems to specialize in Glock barrels.
But does make some limited barrels for other guns.
I got a full boat extended, dual ported, Isonite QPQ
barrel for my Sig P220/45 that would not feed a single round!
Normally I don't return anything, but this really shocked me.
                                I contacted Storm Lake.
And they asked if I could send them the barrel back with my OEM barrel?

Both barrels are scheduled to return from the Storm Lake mother-ship on Monday.
I have four OEM 10 round extended mags, three 7 round P220 Sport mags
and two EOM 7 round mags
I'm going to load up with about 300 HST, Ranger T, Cor-Bon, Hydra-shok and anything else I can find
(Plus a box of 230 +P Ranger Ts)

                                Wish me luck!!!
