  • I think I'm done.

Never thought I'd say this but I think I might be done buying guns unless something really special comes along with a price tag to match. I'm having trouble shooting what I have and I don't do safe queens or having guns just to own them. There is just nothing out there at the moment I'm really wanting.

    My rifles are....
    Springfield M1 Garand.. 30-06
    Marlin 336 30/30
    Ruger 580 Mini 14 ranch rifle. 5.56 (223)
    Yugo SKS 7.62x39
    Mosin Nagant 91/30 7.62x54r
    Ruger 10/22 carbine
Marlin 81 DL bolt action .22

    Shot Gun Mossberg Crusier 20Ga.

    Pistols
    CZ75B 9mm
    RIA 1911 45 Cal.
    Kahr PM9
    Glock G26 Gen 3
    Kel Tec P3at .380.
Ruger MKIII 22/45 RP Bull Barrel Target.

I love owning and shooting them all, but this is getting out of hand.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

I know the feeling. I've got less in the way of shootin things than you do but some of mine just don't get the attention they deserve.

The only thing I don't have that I WOULD like, is a .22LR with a threaded barrel and a suppressor that isn't too big, but effective, and preferably in stainless... Florida and all.

AND get my 10/22's barrel threaded to accept the suppressor!

I've thought about a suppressed gun but without property to shoot on
I just can't justify any good reason at all to have one.

Did have access to private property to shoot on years ago.
          I have a 12 gauge mossy that I haven't' shot in 10 years.
Used to hip shoot mannequins with slugs.

I shoot most of my handguns regularly.
But my Glock G27-357 and Kahr MK40 Elite get most of the love.

My S&W per-lock revolver collection was totally unplanned.
But I feel charmed to have the four guns I have.
          They are all S&W Classics.

I'm in the process of upgrading all my guns
and am breathing new life into my two Sig Sauers.
I have high hopes for both of them.

Generally I want guns I can actually carry and that fill a specific role.
          1) Full Size Service Auto: Sig Sauer P220/45
          2) Compact Service Auto: Sig Sauer P239/357
          3) Sub Compact Service Auto: Glock G27/40
          4) Micro Service Caliber Auto: Kahr MK40 Elite/40

As I look at new autos they generally fall in one of these categories
and I've got them all well covered.

          Revolvers;
I'm a hard core, die hard, classic S&W guy through and through.
And the four I have make me feel complete as a revolver guy.
          N-Frame 629 4" 44 Magnum Mountain Gun
K-Frame 65 3" 357 Magnum Military and Police Heavy Barrel
          J-Frame 640 2.125" 357 Magnum Centennial
          J-Frame 342 ti 1 7/8" 38+P Titanium Centenial

So for now I just can't see buying anything else,
          for now

You don't have to be done Popeye. You can just start buying me some. Or even just giving me some of yours would work. Here's what I would take in, out of the goodness of my heart....since they are neglected. in case you were wondering:

Great collection you have, I think you're set. Just need a backup to everything now.

I'm hopeless, I've said that dozens of times. I'm done, got everything I need, but lately it seems I don't go a month after a purchase before something else pops up on my radar. Greg here doesn't help, since I want everything he post a picture of, the rest of you instigate frequently as well.

Fortunately after the boating accident I have some space to fill if not the dollars to get it done.

                I was done too.

                Then I bought a CW45.....

                Now I'm done
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Since Mikey didn't pick it I'll take the CZ75 if it's up for grabs.

Here we go again, the CZ has been on the list for quite a spell and now it comes up again.

I better go make some sawdust. Almost got a set of buckeye burl done, photos maybe later today.

I'm sure there are more guns in my future.
                    I've almost bought several.
Just waiting for that gun I can't resist.
Or realize a new role for a gun I haven't defined and filled.

Neither of you will get my CZ. It's my bedside gun hanging on the bed rail in a cheap clip on holster. During the day, hidden by the bed skirt. At night, bed skirt tucked behind the holster. 19 rounds, DA first shot, SA remaining 18. If that doesn't do it, got another two mags ready to go

Surv I think you nailed it. I have these and enjoy shooting them but I do feel like they do not get the attention they deserve. So I've been asking myself how much is to much. I've got to get control over this gun addiction. I think it's been two months since I've shot my Mini 14 and I love that rifle.

I haven't shot my Mini 14 in probably 20 years and I love it too. Where does the time go ya know. Doesn't mean I can't love it and enjoy it.
I'm not looking for logic or an excuse for your addiction, mostly looking for logic or an excuse for myself.

What about setting up a determined rotation schedule for using your cache of guns? When you've gone through the rotation you reward yourself by adding to the collection?

You guys (all of you) and my son, are the reason I went from one a beat up old Glenfield Model 25, and an ancient Wards Western Field 20ga pump on July 4th 2011 to a CM9, K9, SR22, Mosin-Nagant, a refurbished Glenfield 25 and a reconditioned Wards Western Field 20ga pump today.

                              And I ain't done yet. I yearn for a nice 1911, a Ruger 10/22, a Mossberg 500, an AR and a few others.

I currently feel all these guns and the ones to come are on a one way trip to me. I don't wish to sell any, just add to their brethren.
