Cops did the right thing
I get irritated when people come down on our police officers, saying that they don't care about or respect others. Well, here is a story that clearly shows not all cops are in that category.
This story involves the police department in the small hill country town of Fredericksburg, TX who reported finding a man's body last Saturday in the early evening in the Pedernales River near the state highway-87 bridge. The dead man's name would not be released until his family had been notified.
The victim apparently drowned due to excessive beer consumption while visiting "someone" in Kerrville . He was wearing black fishnet stockings, 4 inch spiked heels, a red garter belt, a pink G-string, purple lipstick, dazzel dust on his eyelds, 2 1/2 inch false eyelashes and an Obama T-shirt.
The police removed the Obama T-shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.
See there, Texas police do care. When you can't make them see the light,
make them feel the heat.

Good one, jimbar!
Well... just a few days into FALL... temp was in 60's here this am... 7-day forecast starts with"WOW!" for Monday and weather for the rest of the week 30-40% chance of precip'. Today is BEACH DAY... taking the my AWD Savana Van to the Huguenot Beach... van makes shade after 2PM here... as well as a windbreak sometimes! Got the hassock potty, chairs, and cooler loaded. Wifey ran to the store to get some day-old bread for feeding the seagulls... I like that, too. It's fun choosing a bird and getting a piece of bread to HIM through the competition.
I can't believe that Fall snuck(sp) up on me... Saturday... didn't realize until the cool temps this morning. This is the best time for us... kids in school and most everyone else at work. What a nice day!!
Later!

Snuck up on me too. There were pheasant hunters waiting in the fields this morning on the way to work. We've gone about 45 days or so without rain, very unusual around here. Got some finally over the weekend but wasn't much.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

We had a touch of frost this morning! Unusually early. Supposed to be 66 today, 50ish tonight, then warming through the week. Beautiful sunny weather!
My brother and I are planning to visit a restaurant that has been an institution since 1985 in a distant mountain town: Granny's Chicken Palace! They are going to shut the doors after November 3. I spoke with the elderly lady who is the last family member still running the restaurant. She sounded so sweet!
I have always said that if someone opened a restaurant that featured pan fried chicken like Mom used to make (not deep fried), they could charge like steak for it! Mom used an iron skillet with 1/4" or less of oil in it, breaded the chicken southern style with a little oregano for perfect flavor. Some crumbs would fall off the chicken while cooking. She would use a holey spoon to get most of them and spread them out on a paper towel with folded newspaper underneath in order to drain the oil. I LOVED those crumbs!
She would leave some of the crumbs in the skillet, drain all but 1 or 2 tablespoons of oil, and make some chicken gravy. We always had rice with the gravy. The idea of using mashed potatoes was foreign to us. She would prepare 1 or 2 veggie sides and dinner would be on. Scrumptious! :hungry:
I have tried in vain to teach myself to cook chicken like that, but I am not at all successful.
I am hoping that restaurant is going to be similar to Mom's. If it is, I am going to try to visit a few more times before it closes.
Very interesting...

For that super frustrating clog...
Kind of brings new meaning to the discription of a "pump shotgun".
Attached FilesI was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
"Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?
"more stuff than you are"
God Bless our Troups!
