Glocks are rather ugly but for me it doesn't matter, they are a tool that gets the job done w/o any problems for the most part. There are exceptions as with any firearm.

I currently own 6 in various calibers. I have at one time owned as many as 13. They were all flawless pistols.

I have seen LE recruit class with 30-35 brand new Glock pistols in the hands of shooters with no or very little firearms training. At the end of the week, you could count the problems on one hand and those I would attribute to new shooter error.

No break in, no 500 times "racking" the slide. Clean pistol, load the mags and go from there.

Having owned Glock, Sig and HK guns.
I was a little disappointed in my MK40 requiring a break in period for reliable function.
And my Glock has been very reliable.
With ~1 FTF per 1000 rounds with all OEM parts.
But once broken in, the Kahr has been absolutely flawless with ZERO FTFs.
And in my hands is noticeably more accurate than my OEM Glock G27.

IMHO - for a 3.0" barreled gun to be this reliable and accurate?
It's well worth the investment of a break in.

To me the grip in a Glock feels like I'm holding on to a 2X4. I think that Glock makes great guns. They're just not for me. I like everything about them except for the ergonomics.

Same here and I really wanted a Glock but it just doesn't feel right to me and neither did an XD which is a great gun but the grip was just too gnarly and odd shaped for me and then I found true love with a S&W M&P with the small backstrap...Perfect fit for my hand and zero issues with it much like I would expect from a Glock....

Now if Glock ever decides to make a small single stack pistol like a PM sized Kahr then I'll be first in line for one of those but I don't think they are interested in the pocket pistol market yet....

I can't say anything bad about a glock.. I shoot my G19 better than any gun I have ever owned. It is my home/range gun and nuttin more. I truyst my PMJ9 just as much and it is in my pocket 24/7. there might have been one maker of poly guns before glock but glock changed the entire direction of what guns are and how they are made, so they pioneered it and most gun makers just reversed engineered it and we have today so so many goo dply guns out there, that each has its own pluses and minues, Kahrs are not different. U either like a kahr and u either live with some break in stuff or u bad mouth it and buy a glock.. to us kahr owners who have walked the walk and talked the talk, we really don't give a rats ass what utters think.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

                I agree.
BTW Heckler and Koch produced the first polymer-framed pistol.
And predates the Glock 17 by 12 years.

I changed ugly to plain after thinking about it. I've revised my opinion of the Glock's looks since 20 some years back.

I have considered the Glock 21, 13+1 .45acp. Haven't had a chance to handle one, but it's is on my list of High Capacity .45's to check out. It's 11 oz lighter than that SAR K2, probably more reliable out of the box. I may have some Kool-Aid myself.
Springfield has a 13+1 XD I'd have to compare it against. That SAR-K2 is still in the running, would be nice to be able to handle one before I commit to it.

                      Don't forget HK USP 45 that's 12+1.
Yup, I've got the HK bug bad - LOL!

                      The FN 45 is 15+1 I think?

that but the HK never caught on like the glock17 did when it first came out.

That FN-45 is one sweet ride....I had my hands on one early last year back when guns and ammo were plentiful and life was good...That pistol begged me to take it home but I thought I would wait and get it when my Income (Rape) Tax refund came back but it was too late and it was sold....Haven't seen another one since and God knows what they are selling for now IF you can find one....Taught me a lesson, if you find one thats talkin to you, LISTEN to it or you will live to regret it...

What took me so long to see in the dark? What a great shooting gun. Feels good in the hand, I will now take back all the bad things I said that I thought I knew.

Congrats! Let us know how it runs.
I have G26 that is a great carry gun. I want to pick up a Gen 4 G19 sometime myself. they had a some issues with ejection when they came out, hope to hear yours runs like a Glock should.
