RevRay ... my sincere condolences for your "worldly losses", but I'd guess there's probably also reason for a bit of celebration for your brothers' eternal gains as well.

Sometimes I can be an optimist when considering eternity

Close friend of mine just had a massive heart attack. 10 more seconds, and he would have been outside, smoking a cigarette, and his wife would have gone upstairs, and they would have found him the next day. Lucky man. My condolences to you and yours............

Hey Rev, you are in our thoughts and prayers. I pray the youngest comes through with flying colors!
And our condolences for brother Joe. For a believer, death is just a passage, but it is so very hard for those left behind……..we miss them soooo much!

Do you ever wonder why Jesus cried when Lazarus died? Jesus knew he could/would raise him….hmmmmm.
I think Jesus cried because of all the pain death causes mankind!

Rev, I just read this post. Hey, sorry for your loss and wishing the youngest the best. Hang in there. If you need to vent, this dysfunctional family here will surely listen.

                      Subject: ammo

This morning I lucked out and was able to buy two boxes of ammo.

I placed the boxes on the front seat and headed back home, but stopped at a gas station where a drop-dead gorgeous blonde was filling up her car at the next pump.

She glanced at the two boxes of ammo, bent over and leaned in my passenger window, and said in a sexy voice, "I'm a big believer in barter, old fella. Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?"

I thought for a few seconds and asked, "What kind of ammo 'ya got?"

                                Baptist Cowboy

A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas , walks into a bar
and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a
sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar
and orders three more. The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You
know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought
one at time. The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One
is in Arizona , the other is in Colorado . When we all left our home in
Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we
drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for
myself. The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it
there. The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same
way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, I don'twant to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your
loss. The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his
eyes and he laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, It's just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking. Hasn't affected my brothers though.
