  • What was your first handgun?

I was in the safe today and got to playing with my first handgun. It's a H&R model 926 9 shot .22 revolver. I got it for Christmas when I was 12 or 13. It's seen better days. It's missing the rear sight blade and set screw and has a little surface rust here and there. I really should make some time and give it a little TLC. Me and this little .22 spent a lot of hours together when I was a kid. It was the "gateway gun" to my current addiction. Anyway let's hear from you other guys about your first handgun. (I'll try to post some pics later)

Astra .357 revolver.............$200..................shot it once, pos, sold it back for $200. Felt like it was going to fall apart in my hand. Moved to a nickel S & W 19 .357. Much better.

I guess I pretty much started at the top. 6 inch Colt Python. My wife's Christmas present to me the first Christmas we were married. We were just crazy kids and could not afford it, but I still have them both. Both are prettier every year.

My first handgun was a High Standard HD Military .22 LR target pistol with a 6" bull barrel. I like to track rabbits in the snow and if I caught them sitting I'd pop em in the head with that .22. No wasted meat that way.

I started with a Ruger single six convertible. 22/ 22mag. I sold it once but got it back a few months later. We covered a lot of miles, me and that old Ruger.

Still in pretty decent shape too, better than me for sure.

I bought and received two at the same time while in the academy so they'd both have to serve as my first.

Ruger Service Six and Ruger SPNY.

I still love the gun and shoot it often.
