    QUOTE=Barth;321012]Never owned a 1911.
    But I've rented a few.
The only one that was 100% reliable for me?
    5" Wilson Combat CQB.

      Yeah entry level for sure.

I'd love to say I owned one before the river crossing but I don't think it's gonna happen. I have held one, I guess that counts for something.

As insane as the prices seem, the thing just felt super high quality to me as it should I reckon. Just holding it exuded top notch. Hard to explain.

        I shoot it well.
        But It's not a 1911.
And the Wilson Combat CQB is a tack driver.
No shocker to anyone that knows me.
        But for a 45 ACP that's not a 1911?
I'll take my HK USP Tactical 45 all day every day.
The USPT45 has been bombproof and deadly accurate.
Barth, you have the coolest sheet. I fell in love with this pistol.

My friend has a Kimber Crimson Carry II, officer sized 1911. He has a lot of annoyances with it. It's top heavy, and will pull the holster out of my friends waist band, and falls out once in awhile, and the grip seems to like to expose itself in warmer weather, when it's covered by a long shirt or something. And after 500 rounds, it still won't cycle hollowpoints reliably, Kimber says put another 300-500 through it and it should work itself out. But he's decided to switch to a LC9 for his CC weapon. It's much lighter, and stays concealed better. It was an impulse buy, from when he was taking his CC class, and he thought it would work out much better than it actually has. He has better holsters, but they don't conceal well, except in jacket weather. The one that falls out looks like it should work well, maybe he doesn't keep his belt tight enough to keep it from falling out.

Did you notice Wilson even bobbed the frame a little on that CQB for you Bawanna?
If you're interested, there are some more photos of it here: http://blog.wilsoncombat.com/caliber...ur-daddys-cqb/

Barth, You must have some good size mitts to be using a grip sleeve on a USP 45

Mine feels a touch awkward (big) in my hands, but the Compact is a good fit for me.

Your hands must be about the same size as mine, Greg. My compact SS USP 45 fits fine but the FS USP 40 is a bit chunky for me.

As you know, Col, that's where I was. Changed my mind. Seriously high quality but nothing that can't be duplicated, and for less cost. I would have accepted the price, especially with my discount, but Wilson's lead time for a specific option build was just way too long.

Yeah it's all name recognition and he deserves it but it's like dating Britney Spears (on a good day). Sure there are 10 million other women as good looking that a person could date and probably a lot cheaper but they ain't Britney Spears. Or insert any name J Lo, Reba Macintyre (my favorite) I could go on and on.

Then there are those amongst of on a different level who only understand sheep mentality, not to be confused with sheep dog mentality which is an animal of a whole different color.

I like to go into my favorite gun store (http://www.trailcreekguns.com/) and look at all the Wilson's, Nighthawk's, Ed Brown's, Guncrafter's in the cases. the joke there is you point to one of them and say, "$328 ain't a bad price", salesman hands you a pair of reading glasses so you can see the 0 on the end. yep, $3280 is a little steep for a retired guy. Glock 21 is $585, no 0 on the end.

Actually I've got small girl sized hands - LOL!
                      But I like big guns.
Actually prefer the grip on my FS USP to my HK45c.
Although I have to shift my grip to hit the slide release.
                      I'm a strange brew...

My cell phone pics suck - LOL.
This is a better cell pic of my HK45C -

Is that Britney? I heard the name a million times, never was for sure what she looked like.

Kind of like Pippi Longstockings huh? Like her bangs.

                              Itxi? Are they too big?
