    carrying

how would they even know if it is concealed? If someone breaks in and tries to rob the place and you save the day I bet they wont hold it against you! though I wouldn't condone getting into that situation unless there was a threat to you.

      Missing the point

I think you guys are missing the point.
If it is concealed how will any one know that you are carrying ? Banks and other organizations that post these sings are not going to dictate to me weather I can carry my hand gun or not. Unless there is a medal detector in the building I do not recognize these signs. There have been concealed carry citizens who have been killed in shootings because they left there gun in there vehicle because they listened to these (no gun postings) the criminal who wants to walk in a building and kill someone is not going to care if there is a posting, they will do what they want. I have been the victim of a violent crime. And I would never let a posting get in the way of me being able to protect my self or my family because a business. Over the last six months there have been several shootings in a School, church, and business. They all had (no gun postings) and in every case no one was able to protect the people that were killed in all of those instances. So how are those signs helping?

An accidential discharge. It does happen. Over at the Ruger LCP forum, it was reported that some fellow had Kel-tec 380 that went off in his pants. He did NOT have a pocket stuffer holster to cover the trigger. These are DAO guns, and it still happened. I was researching getting a Kimber 1911. A poster (a LEO) on a review forum said his "locked and cocked" 1911 fell off while taking off his vest, hit the floor and discharged.

In NC, you can't legally go inside a financial institution. But you can carry on the property going to ATMs.

My understanding of Michigan laws are that we can carry in a bank unless they have posted a no guns allowed signs in accordance with the laws requirment link any other private business. Also we cannot carry in a Federal Reserve Bank

            Florida Law

In Florida, posted signs have no legal authority. There are clearly outlined no carry zones (schools, sporting event, police/sheriff offices, courts, voting places, and places in bars or restaurants where only alcohol is served. A bank or any business can post a sign, but if you have properly concealed, how will they know. If by chance someone does determine you to be armed, all they can do is ask you to leave. At that point you must do so immediatly or they can charge you with trespass.

Carry when I go into Chase bank in CA. No problem. That having been said I tend to avoid going to the bank and do my thing at a Chase ATM inside of a drug store. Don't like the idea of being ordered proned out at a takeover robbery. Can do everything I need to do at the indoor ATM.

I carry, everywhere I go. Period. The only places I don't is where there are metal detectors. I'll turn around and leave.

Michigan is not near restrictive, as some states.
Thank God for something good in Michigan.

No law against it in Indiana. That said, I usually use the drive up window or the ATM.

If they have a sign and you carry it's trespass, otherwise you're good to go anywhere except government offices, schools, and the state fair.

Great minds think alike, Wayne. Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

In Florida this is absolutely false.
Every state has a different definition of where you can and can't carry.
Florida has no such bank restriction.

Any business can post no firearms sign that you should honor.
But I think all they can really do is request you leave.
I've never seen a bank with such a sign (just one credit union I know of)

The no no's are like -
Bars, sporting events, government buildings, schools, parts of the airport...

It's legal here and I do it all of the time... not that I go to banks much. I even go to the credit union to get my CWL renewal application notarized.

Dietrich, I'm not surprised at all this...jlottmc has a CHL from NC and so does my mom. You know that as long as you can hit the target, with a revolver or semi, you pass the test...It's such a JOKE!!!

I think it's a NC thing. They have NO clue about concealed carry and how it should be run. We carry here all the time in the banks. Course we do live in TX and they are SO gun friendly here for the most part.
