So I got a new cm 40 yesterday and already having issues..took out to range for break in and magazine follower broke after 100rds.. bought another magazine and it to broke in about 50 rds.. so I called kahr and there sending me out a new magazine. They would not discuss any issues that would be causing the magazines breaking and said they were not aware of any issues with there magazines. SO I did some research and seen this is an ongoing issue an they choose to ignore it. So I contacted kahr again today and the rep was very rude when I started asking questions and told me if I don't like the gun then sell it. I was astonished never have I had such bad experience with glock ruger or sw. I do like the kahr cm40 but it seems to me they just don't ant to fix the problems with he magazine. I noticed where the slide stop lever engages the magazine on last round is where it keeps breaking.. so I am going to wish for the best and hope the new magazine fixes the issue. if not i will send it back once for repair and then if that does not fix it i will just not ever buy another kahr gun..

Day 1 you call, they immediately send out a new mag. Day 2 you call again to discuss your internet research with them and their response was curt. Is that it?Rest in peace Muggsy

here's an 11 page thread ( http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...510#post293510) about a manufacturing defect in a run of CW45's. was there a recall? NO! was there any pre-paid mailers to send the defective gun back? NO!
hehehehe, you get on Kahrtalk and say Kahr's customer service sucks, hmmmph! I agree . if I go thru some old emails I can tell you which rep sucks the most.
anybody buying a gun, (brand unimportant all of them can be junk these days), consider finding a local FFL that will receive a gun from one of the online gun sellers that has a 100% no bs take back warranty. (Davidson's for example). gun breaks, it doesn't go to the factory for "repair", you just get a new one. with the way things are built and marketed these days you have to cover yourself, the concept of service is almost dead.Last edited by marcinstl; 03-27-2015, 03:19 PM.

I'm no longer going to defend Kahr's customer service. Only the poster and the service rep know what truly happened and we're only getting one side of the story. But as my dad says: "If you have a good experience, then your POV is that service is 100% good. But if you have a bad one, then it's 100% bad as far as you are concerned."

What was the name of the Kahr service rep. that you spoke to?Originally posted by jmeadows76 View PostSo I got a new cm 40 yesterday and already having issues..took out to range for break in and magazine follower broke after 100rds.. bought another magazine and it to broke in about 50 rds.. so I called kahr and there sending me out a new magazine. Kahr doesn't issue a recall on a gun unless it's safety related. If only a small number of guns are experiencing the problem they repair them on an as needed basis. Your gun has a feed ramp that is striking the follower during recoil after the last round is fired, because the feed ramp is too, long. You can judiciously shorten the feed ramp yourself with a Dremel or return the gun to Kahr for repair. If you behave like a gentleman they will in all probability send you a prepaid mailer that will cover the coat of return shipping even though they aren't required to do so. I've never had a problem with Kahr Service, but then I'm known as a smooth talker. Right, Bawanna?Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

when people were sending CW45's back for a new frame, there was a few that did get a pre-paid mailer and others who didn't, hence the 11 page thread and bad mouthing of Kahr support. without some standard policy for reps to follow, it comes down to who did you talk to and really, who you should ask to talk to. Kahr C series pistols are a good value for beginners and folks that want a simple to operate, light, small gun. if I was going to spend the money a P series gun costs, it wouldn't be a Kahr.
!(if somebody has a decent S&W 64 or 67, I'll trade your for a box of Kahrs(CM9and CW9), huh, is that a deal? pm me.)!

It isn't who you talk to, but how you talk to them that's important. The customer isn't always right, but the customer is always the customer. He pays the employees salary when he buys your product. You should always note the name of the person that you talked to, the date and time, and what was said. Kahr doesn't want a bad employee, but at the same time Kahr doesn't want their employees abused. As I've said before, you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. What you do with the flies you catch is your own damn business.
Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Just finished reading a review of a gun test between the Beretta Nano and the Sig 290rs like I just bought....The guy said the Sig started dropping magazines when shooting +p ammo so he sent it back to Sig who said they replaced the magazine catch and sent it back to him...Long story short, they didn't fix it and it was still dropping magazines so he called Sig customer service and talked to some guy named Andy who was a first class A Hole and was giving the guy the run around and wouldn't help him or pass the call to a supervisor...Andy said he wanted to see a video of it happening before he would even think about taking it back for another warranty trip....
Well the guy sent e-mails to everybody and his brother at Sig and nobody would return calls or e-mails so it's not just Kahr that doesn't always give great customer service....I'm surprised to hear Sig doesn't and this may have been an isolated incident, don't know....I've always been treated pretty good by Kahr and will admit they could do a little better and answer the phone quicker but all in all they are pretty much like everyone else these days and have the minimum number of employees doing the maximun amount of work....
So far I'm liking my new Sig but I hope I never have to talk to this dude Andy!!!" An armed society is a polite society".... Robert A. Heinlein
