"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

I had never fired a .357 out of anything and was surprised at the recoil. It was not even close to being controllable for me. Glad I tried it though. I'd love to shoot a Barrett 50 caliber.Originally posted by chrish View PostI tried to tell ya'. Mean weren't it?!

.357 isn't bad in those big ole revolvers your daddy owned. But these newer pistols, particularly the smith 340 models (11oz to 13oz, give or take) are just downright abusive. The 340 running .357 is off the chart, borders on useless if you ask me. They are actually painful to shoot. They'll leave your hand red and your wrist sore after a couple dozen rounds.Originally posted by melissa5 View PostI had never fired a .357 out of anything and was surprised at the recoil. With .38 +P, they are much more reasonable and a dream to carry. Makes a Kahr look a little heavy in the butt
My next wheel gun is going to be the 351pd or its M&P sibling...or the new Ruger .22wmr. I'd prefer the Smith, but they are kinda unicorn-ish.
Enjoy it. Its a nice revolver.

I sort of like firing a 357 out of my SP101.
But I sorta stop after about 20 rounds.
Alright, I don't stop, I quit.

that's why I was suggesting Melissa load down her range rounds to .38 spl pressures, but use .357 brass to avoid the crud rings that will develop in the .357 chambers.
I usually shoot 50-100 rounds of my range use reloads through my 3" SP101 in a session, but they are loaded (.357 brass) to about 38+p pressures (or below). Even in the heavy SP101, 20-25 rounds of full house .357 mag is enough for me, but I know I can handle it if "need be".________________________________________

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back with you, but no it doesn't print.Originally posted by melissa5 View PostThat doesn't print?
Just like most other methods of carry (the flash bang) printing has a lot to do with what you wear. However, I've been pleasantly surprised at the ease of concealment. As long as I'm not wearing anything skin tight, I'm fine. And the draw is faster than you would believe. I'd be happy to send some photos but I'm computer illiterate.
My flash bang was made for a smith and wesson 38 special body guard but I sold that gun because it hurt my hand and I bought a Ruger LCR 357 (it's more comfortable to shoot 357 than the bodyguard was to shoot 38's). Anyway, I used a hairdryer to soften the Kydex and reshaped the holster. Also some bras
work better than others so you will have to experiment (like most women I have a variety of bras so that wasn't an issue). Finally, like any carrying method you have to practice so that you don't flash (you men be quiet) your off hand.
That really wasn't my "finally" this is my finally; I would think that if you are planning to conceal the gun up high in a belly band that the flash bang would be just as easy to hide.

I am going to try an Undertech holster shirt first. Should be in my mailbox today. If that doesn't work, I'll seriously look at the flash bang.
